Google Delisting Row: Startup Founders Meet Ministers, Seek Action Against The Tech Giant

Several Indian startup founders met with central government ministers to discuss their concerns over Google's delisting of apps and sought government intervention. The virtual meetings with IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State Rajeev Chandrasekhar were attended by founders such as Murugavel Janakiraman of Bharat Matrimony, Snehil Khanor of Truly Madly, and Vinay Singhal of STAGE, among others. They raised issues regarding the impact on employment, innovation, tax collection, and urged the revamping of competition laws to address Google's alleged discriminatory pricing and abuse of market dominance. The ministers promised to take up the matter with Google for a sustainable solution and encouraged a level playing field for startups.
