Game development studio GameEon has secured $1 million in its latest funding round co-led by SucSEED Indovation Fund, ICE VC, IAN, CD EQUIFINANCE, Nexus Global Opportunities Fund, Vivek Goel, Patni Family, and Tal64 GameEon had earlier raised $500K for product prototyping and market testing, conducting trials in 12 countries and gathering insights from over 5,000 gamers globally. The fresh funds will be used to accelerate the creation of AA and AAA games for PC and console and launch the early chapters of Mumbai Gullies, GameEon said in a press release. Co-founded in 2013 by Nikhil Malankar and Kaustubh Jadhav, GameEon specializes in creating PC, console, and mobile games and provides immersive storytelling and culturally rich experiences. According to the Mumbai-based company, it has developed games like Kites Mumbai and Box cricket. The company is also developing Special Ops – a 3D shooting game in HD with high-level graphics. The platform is also working on the game Mumbai Gullies inspired by GTA Vice City which will combine game development with deeply rooted cultural storytelling. The market research says that the global gaming industry continues to grow rapidly and is expected to hit $300 billion by 2026.

Gaming startup Liquidnitro Games has raised $5.25 million in its seed round led by Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from angel investors from the US, Canada, EU, and India. The proceeds will be used to build a studio, AI and technology investments to boost production pipelines at scale, and offer live services capabilities at scale, the company said in a press release. Liquidnitro was founded in December 2023 by ex-EA veterans Sandeep Kowdley, Krishna Dhanekula, Arun Kunchala, and Suresh Manthena. The startup provides services such as live services, geo-adaptation, assistance in transitioning gaming ideas and IPs into profitable game launches through prototyping, limited market testing, iteration, and full production. It also offers assistance in setting up specialized game teams to co-produce games and live services. The company added it is partnering with global games companies for its value proposition and exploring new market opportunities in India and beyond.

The company closed February with over $100K in gross revenue, marking a 4X scale-up from November 2024. It primarily competes with the global notable players in this space such as Voodoo, Homa, Rollic, Supercent, amongst others.

KRAFTON acquires majority stake in Nautilus Mobile for Rs 118 Cr

KRAFTON, the company behind BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI), has acquired a controlling stake in Pune-based game studio Nautilus Mobile for Rs 118 crore ($13.7 million). This is KRAFTON’s first full-control deal in India. Nautilus Mobile is best known for its popular mobile cricket game, Real Cricket. JetSynthesys fully acquired the studio in 2020, and KRAFTON later invested Rs 40.5 crore in 2022. With this acquisition, KRAFTON aims to boost Indian game development and expand its presence in sports gaming. JetSynthesys will remain a minority investor and continue working with Nautilus, especially in Esports. KRAFTON India CEO Sean Hyunil Sohn said this deal will help India become a global gaming hub. Nautilus Mobile CEO Anuj Mankar said the partnership will help Real Cricket grow internationally. KRAFTON has invested over $200 million in Indian startups since 2021 and continues to support local game developers. With India’s growing love for cricket and gaming, this move strengthens KRAFTON’s position in the country’s gaming ecosystem.
