FY25 to be “good year” for India’s paper industry as domestic market is intact, says association

India's paper industry is expected to experience growth in the next fiscal year, according to the Indian Pulp and Paper Technical Association (IPPTA). The industry, which has a current estimated value of around ₹80,000 crore, has seen mixed performance due to fluctuations in global demand. While domestic demand remains intact, certain segments that rely on exports, such as packaging boards, have been affected. However, IPPTA believes that the next financial year will be positive for the industry, unless a global economic recession occurs. The industry is also being encouraged to pursue sustainable growth through energy conservation and investment in renewable energy sources.
