Farm to Feed is cutting food loss and creating data platform to better farming outcomes

Farm to Feed, an agri-tech startup in Kenya, is addressing the problem of food loss by aggregating and selling "imperfect" crop products that are often rejected by distributors. Founded in 2021, the startup uses aggregators to collect produce from both small and large-scale farmers, which is then sorted, graded, and dispatched to businesses through various sales channels, including an online marketplace. Farm to Feed has raised $1 million in equity and grant funding and is also building a data platform to collect information on climate and drivers of food loss for better farming outcomes. The startup is exploring value-addition opportunities and is considering tapping into the carbon market as well.
