The Gurugram-based company is in the process of appointing investment bankers and is likely to file its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) within the current financial year. “The planned Rs 2,000 crore Initial public offering (IPO) will be split equally between primary and secondary components, said a source. “A significant portion of the funds raised will be used to provide an exit opportunity for early investors and to reduce the company’s debt.” Founded in 2013, Square Yards is a proptech platform that provides end-to-end real estate services, including property discovery, buying and selling, mortgage assistance, home furnishing, rentals, and property management. Square Yards operates in more than 100 cities across nine countries and has 150,000 agent partners. Square Yards has raised a total of $200 million of funding to date, having Reliance Group as its lead investor, which has an 8% stake in the company. According to another source, the founders of the company are expected to hold more than 50% stake after the IPO. Square Yards is targeting Rs 2,000 crore of revenue and Rs 200 crore EBITDA (Earnings before interest, tax and depreciation) by the end of the current fiscal year (FY26). During the previous fiscal year, Square Yards reported 40.9% year-on-year growth in its operating revenue to Rs 1410 crore, while its gross profits soared by 51.9% to Rs 316 crore in FY25, compared to Rs 208 crore in FY24.

Exclusive: BharatPe set to raise $80-100 Mn pre-IPO round led by Coatue BharatPe is in advanced talks to raise $80-$100 million in a pre-IPO round led by Coatue Management, according to two people aware of the matter. This equity funding marks the first such raise in four years for the Delhi-based fintech unicorn. “The round will also see participation from some new and existing investors. This is aimed at strengthening the company’s financial position and setting the stage for an eventual public listing,” said one of the sources, requesting anonymity as the talks are private. As per sources, the investment is being spearheaded by Coatue’s new partner Amit Mukherjee, who has been actively working with BharatPe’s management and board on IPO preparations. Last week, BharatPe’s CEO Nalin Negi also said that the firm will go for a pre-IPO round but ruled out a listing this fiscal (FY26). According to another source, the company wants to ensure consistent profitability before filing draft papers. BharatPe declined to comment on the story while queries sent to Coatue did not elicit an immediate response. BharatPe raised its last equity round in August 2021 when it also entered the unicorn club. It has raised over $650 million in equity and debt from the likes of Tiger Global, Dragoneer Investment Group, Steadfast Capital, Coatue Management, Ribbit Capital and others. BharatPe recently claimed that it turned profitable in FY25 with a profit before tax of Rs 6 crore (excluding ESOP costs) on revenues of Rs 1,800 crore. This marks a turnaround for the firm which had been loss-making for several years. The company already achieved a break-even at the EBITDA level (adjusting for employee stock options) during the first nine months of FY25 while its net losses declined to Rs 148.8 crore in the same period. In April, BharatPe’s subsidiary Resilient secured final approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate as an online payment aggregator. This makes BharatPe one of the few Indian fintech companies to hold an NBFC license (through Trillion Loans), a stake in a small finance bank (Unity SFB), and now a payment aggregator license. The company’s revenue from operations grew 45% to Rs 378 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 260 crore in Q1 FY25, according to the company’s press release. Square Yards is a proptech platform that provides end-to-end real estate services, including property discovery, buying and selling, mortgage assistance, home furnishing, rentals, and property management. Square Yards operates in more than 100 cities across nine countries, as per the release. Revenue contributions rose across real estate, financial services, and home renovation segments, while digital products saw a decline. Notably, financial services surged 60% year-on-year, followed by 36% growth in real estate and 21% in home renovations. Square Yards facilitated 55,771 transactions with a Gross Transaction Value (GTV) of Rs 18,480 crore during the quarter. Revenue from India contributed Rs 340 crore, marking a 57% year-on-year growth. The improved operating leverage helped Square Yards record its first-ever profitable quarter. Gross profit nearly tripled to Rs 70 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 24 crore in the same period last year, with margins improving to 18% from 9%. Segmental EBITDA stood at Rs 38.2 crore with a 10% margin, while overall EBITDA turned positive at Rs 4.4 crore against a loss of Rs 33.7 crore a year ago. “We are delighted to deliver our strongest-ever first quarter performance, marking a historic milestone for Square Yards. With revenue growing 45% year-on-year and gross profit nearly tripling, this quarter reflects the strength of our operating model,” said Tanuj Shori, Founder and CEO of Square Yards. The Tiger Global-backed company is in talks to raise over $100 million in a new round mostly financed by existing investors, said three sources aware of the contours of the deal. “Spinny could raise up to $120 million from internal investors including Elevation Capital, Abu Dhabi Growth Fund, General Catalyst and Accel among others,” said one of the sources on condition of anonymity. Sources assert that the talks are in an early stage and it may take a quarter to materialize. If the deal gets through, Spinny would be the first used car platform to raise a new round since late 2021. As per sources, its valuation more or less remains unchanged in the potential round. Market analysts point out that Spinny has emerged as a clear leader with a large delta in the used car retail space as the company appears to have cracked demand first transaction model. It has achieved this on the back of one of the lowest consumer acquisition costs and better gross margin. The Gurugram-based company also scaling auction-based verticals for dealers and car-financing businesses. Most of the money from the new round is likely to be deployed to grow the lending biz, said sources. “Spinny sells close to 7,000 cars every month with an average transaction size of around 6 lakhs. It also sells around 5000 more cars every month on its B2B auction platform,” said the source mentioned above. Queries sent to Spinny, Accel, Elevation and General Catalyst did not elicit an immediate response. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Spinny has raised around $500 million to date. Tiger Global and Accel are its largest stakeholders with 14.25% and 13.25% holding respectively. For the fiscal year ended in March 2024, Spinny’s revenue from operations increased to Rs 3,725.02 crore from Rs 3,259.78 crore in FY23​. During the period, its losses reduced by 28% to Rs 590.37 crore.
