Elon Musk heading to China for visit to Tesla's second-biggest market, sources say

Tesla CEO Elon Musk traveled to Beijing to meet with senior Chinese officials and discuss the rollout of Full-Self Driving (FSD) software in China, according to sources. Musk also hopes to obtain approval to transfer data collected in China abroad for training algorithms for Tesla's autonomous driving technologies. The company has been storing all data collected by its Chinese fleet in Shanghai as required by regulators, but this marks the first effort to transfer the data back to the United States. Musk recently stated that Tesla may make FSD available to customers in China soon.
