Electric scooter manufacturer Ather Energy has entered into a coveted unicorn club with $71 million in funding from existing investor National Investment and Infrastructure Fund last month. Entrackr has gone through its regulatory filings to decode round break up, shareholding pattern, and current valuation. The board at Ather Energy has passed a special resolution to issue 1,65,28,925 Series G compulsory cumulative preference shares at an issue price of Rs 363 each to raise Rs 600 crore or $72 million, its regulatory filing accessed from RoC shows. According to the data intelligence platform TheKredible, Hero MotoCorp remains the largest external stakeholder with 38.11% after this round, followed by Caladium Investment which holds 16.3%. NIIF, Tiger Global, and Zerodha brothers are other notable investors in Ather Energy. See TheKredible for the complete shareholding. The electric two-wheeler manufacturer was valued at $1.25 billion post-allotment, as per Fintrackr’s estimates. Ather posted Rs 339 crore of revenue during the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal year with a net loss of Rs 183 crore in the same period, according to its internal document seen by Entrackr. In FY24, the firm reported a modest decline in its revenue which stood at Rs 1754 crore. Ather’s rival Ola Electric, which went public last month, posted Rs 1,644 crore in revenue during the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal year, marking its net loss down by 17% to Rs 347 crore. According to Ather, its market share in the electric two-wheeler segment was 9% in the first quarter of FY25, down from 11% in FY24. Meanwhile, Ola Electric’s market share increased to 42% in Q1 FY25, and TVS Electric secured the second position with a 19% share during the same period. Notably, Ola Electric’s market share declined in the first two months of Q2 FY25 (July and August).

The Tarun Mehta-led company did not provide a revenue breakdown during the last quarter. Ather’s cost of materials, primarily driven by battery and component procurement, made up the largest share of its expenditure. This cost increased by nearly 74% to Rs 518 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 297 crore in the same period last year, accounting for over 61% of the total expenses during the quarter. Employee benefit expenses saw a surge of 37% YoY to Rs 119 crore in Q1 FY26 compared to Rs 87 crore in Q1 FY25. Depreciation and amortization costs rose 20% to Rs 48 crore, while other operational costs jumped nearly 31% to Rs 166 crore. Overall, Ather’s total expenditure grew 54% to Rs 851 crore in Q1 FY26, up from Rs 551 crore in Q1 FY25. As a result, the company’s net losses reduced by 3% to Rs 178 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 183 crore in Q1 FY25. In July 2025, Ather Energy maintained its fourth-place market position, selling 16,231 units. This represents a 10.59% month-on-month increase from the 14,677 units sold in June, bringing their market share to 15.78%. Ather Energy made its stock market debut on May 6, 2025, listing at Rs 328 per share on the NSE. However, the stock is currently trading at Rs 375, bringing its total market capitalization to Rs 13,723 crore ($1.5 billion). Ather competitor Ola Electric’s topline shrank by nearly 50% year-on-year during the first quarter of FY26. At the same time, the Bengaluru-based firm’s losses widened by 23%.

Policybazaar and Paisabazaar’s parent, PB Fintech, reported a 7.3% decline in its revenue during the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal (FY25) year. The firm, however, managed to keep its grip on the profit numbers in the same period as compared to the previous quarter (Q4 FY24). PB Fintech’s revenue slipped to Rs 1,010 crore in Q1 FY25 as compared to Rs 1,090 crore during the quarter ended March 2024, as per the company’s disclosure with the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Insurance broking formed 83.6% of the collections which decreased 7.5% to Rs 845 crore during Q1 FY25. The income from other operating activities, which include marketing, advertising, consulting, and support services, plunged 5.7% to Rs 165 crore in the same period. The firm earned Rs 100 crore from non-operating activities including financial income, tallying its overall revenue to Rs 1,111 crore in Q1 FY24. For PB Fintech, employee benefits cost remained the largest cost center forming 42% of the overall expenditure. This cost saw a mere increase of 3.4% QoQ to Rs 455 crore in the past quarter (Q1 FY25). The company’s spending on finance, advertising-promotion, network, internet, and other overheads pushed its total expenditure to Rs 1,081 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 1,114 crore in Q4 FY24. Despite the decline in scale, PB Fintech has managed to maintain steady profits, which stood at Rs 60 crore in Q1 FY25. On a unit level, the Gurugram-based firm spent Rs 1.07 to earn a rupee in Q1 FY25. PB Fintech ended the day (August 6) with a share price of Rs 1,425 and its total market capitalization was Rs 64,984 crore, or $7.2 billion.

Mobility startup Rapido recently turned unicorn after raising $120 million in a Series E funding round from WestBridge Capital through its various investment vehicles including SETU AIF and Konark. While the firm didn’t announce the funding officially, Entrackr has sifted through its regulatory filings to decode every detail of the round which was entirely led by WestBridge —an uncommon deal in the ecosystem. The board at Rapido has passed a special resolution to issue 10 equity, 95,479 Series E, and 95,489 Series E1 compulsory convertible preferred shares at Rs 52,467 each to raise Rs 1,002 crore (approximately $120 million) from WestBridge Capital through its 3 investment vehicles including SETU AIF, Konark, and MMPL Trust. Notably, shares issued worth Rs 501 crore were fully paid-up shares while the other 50% is partly-paid up. This essentially means that Rapido will receive the partly paid amount (Rs 501 crore) in tranches. Rapido will use the proceeds for expansion and growth, as per filings. According to the startup data intelligence platform, TheKredible’s estimates, Rapido was valued at around Rs 8,517 crore (approximately $1.02 billion) in the series E round. With this investment, WestBridge remained the largest external stakeholder with 32.88%, followed by Swiggy and Nexus Ventures, which own 12.32% and 8.19%, respectively. See TheKredibe for the complete shareholding pattern. Rapido also claimed to have left Ola behind and became the number two player after Uber in the overall ride-hailing space (bike, auto, and cabs). As of March 2024, Uber processed 19.3 lakh rides on a daily basis while Rapido did 16.5 lakh rides a day followed by Ola which did 13 lakh rides, as per Rapido’s internal documents reviewed by Entrackr. While Rapido is yet to disclose FY24 numbers, the firm’s operating revenue surged 3X to Rs 443 crore during FY23. The steep growth in scale also caused a 54% spike in losses, which stood at Rs 675 crore in FY23.

Blinkit has displayed outstanding growth since getting acquired by Zomato in 2022, a deal that many considered a distressed one, for $569 million. Not only the quick commerce firm has seen growth in topline but also turned profitable*. Many experts are apprehensive about the quick commerce model as they believe economics won’t work out in the ten-minute delivery. Blinkit, however, appears to have proven this notion wrong through its latest numbers. Blinkit saw an exceptional 2.4X year-on-year growth in revenue to Rs 942 crore in June 2024 from Rs 384 crore in June 2023, its financial statements filed by the Zomato Group with the NSE show. The consistent growth in scale and effective cost-cutting measures enabled Blinkit to turn around its bottom line —shifting from a loss of Rs 105 crore in Q1 FY23 to a profit of Rs 43 crore in the last quarter. Importantly, Blinkit’s profit zoomed 23X QoQ to Rs 43 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 2 crore Q4 FY24. The quick commerce biz along with Hyperpure spiked the Zomato group’s profit by 44.6% to Rs 253 crore in Q1 FY25 *Caveat: Blinkit’s profit figures do not include other income and non-cash elements including ESOPs, depreciation and finance costs. As per Zomato, BlinkIt’s adjusted EBITDA stood at negative Rs 3 crore in the last quarter of the ongoing fiscal year (Q1 FY25). Blinkit’s gross order value (GOV) surged 2.3X to Rs 4,923 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 2,140 in Q1 FY FY24 while its numbers of order grew in a similar pattern to 78.8 million during the same period. The Q1 numbers drive home the point that you underestimate, or even write off Zomato at your own peril. Besides an almost Teflon-like ability to shrug off controversies, the firm has built a bit of a reputation for its unconventional approach to business, including its marketing, with the numbers to justify it. Even now, many people have rushed to say Blinkit will be the horse pulling the group wagon soon, but we wouldn’t go as far as that. Besides the almost duopoly we have in the market today nationally between Zomato and Swiggy, Zomato’s other diversifications might yet surprise too. Be it Dine Out or Live events, none have come with quite the barrage of negativism that had greeted Blinkit, and yet, we know the story only too well. Zomato’s high valuation certainly has enough behind it for now.

Electric two-wheeler firm Ather Energy has filed its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with the Security Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for an initial public offering (IPO) on Monday. Ather will be the second two-wheeler EV maker to make its debut on the stock exchange. Ola Electric went public last month. The firm has proposed to raise funds through a fresh issue of equity shares aggregating up to Rs 3,100 crore (approximately $370 million) and an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 2.2 crore equity shares, according to the DRHP. GIC Ventures through its subsidiary Caladium Investment will divest 47.8% of the total offer for sale (OFS) while Tiger Global and 3 States Ventures will offload 18.1% and 2.18% of the offer for sale. Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain will also participate by offering 10 lakh shares each. The fresh issue and OFS will be allotted at a face value of Re 1 while the company will decide the price band and minimum lot band in consultation with the book-running lead managers shortly. According to the DRHP, Hero MotoCorp is the largest external shareholder with 37.2% followed by GIC (Caladium Investment) and NIIF which hold 15.04% and 10.29% respectively. However, Hero MotoCorp won’t participate in the OFS, which is a bit surprising for the observers. Its co-founders Tarun Sanjay Mehta and Swapnil Babanlal Jain cumulatively hold 13.26% of the company. Axis Capital, HSBC Securities, Nomura Financial, and JM Financial are the book-running lead managers of the issue. The company will use the proceeds from the fresh issue of shares on capital expenditure to establish their E2W factory, repayment of borrowing, research and development, and expenditures towards marketing, the DRHP further added. Ather recently turned unicorn after $71 million in funding from existing investor National Investment and Infrastructure Fund. The Bengaluru-based firm became the second unicorn from the electric vehicle space after Softbank-backed Ola Electric. Ather has raised over $500 million out of which $125 million came in the last three months for the Mehta-led company. The company also disclosed its Q1 FY25 numbers and it recorded Rs 339 crore in revenue in the first quarter of FY25 with a net loss of Rs 183 crore in the same period. In FY24, the firm reported a modest decline in its revenue which stood at Rs 1754 crore. Ather’s customer base increased by 34% to 1,14,000 in FY24. During FY23, the firm posted 270% customer growth, as per the DRHP. Notably, during the previous fiscal (FY24), Ather imported 28% of the raw materials from China where the figures stood at 10% in FY23. Ather competitor Ola Electric posted Rs 1,644 crore in revenue in Q1 FY25, marking its net loss down by 17%. Among two-wheeler EVs, Ather had 9% market share as of Q1 FY25 while Ola was at the top with 49%.

Decoding Groww’s $200 Mn pre-IPO funding round The development comes just days after the company filed a confidential DRHP with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Groww is looking to raise $700 million to $1 billion through an IPO. Billionbrains Garage Ventures Limited, the parent firm of Groww, is raising Rs 1,735 crore (approximately $200 million) in a fresh round led by Singapore-based GIC and existing investor ICONIQ Capital. The development comes just days after the company filed a confidential DRHP with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Groww is looking to raise $700 million to $1 billion through an IPO. The board at Groww has passed a special resolution to issue 3.59 crore preference shares at an issue price of Rs 482.8 each to raise the aforesaid amount, its filing accessed from the Registrar of Companies shows. Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), through its affiliate Viggo Investment, will be injecting Rs 867.5 crore ($100 million) while ICQNIC Capital will contribute a similar amount through its entity ISP VII-B Blocker GW. According to the filing, the company will use these proceeds for the growth of its existing business and its subsidiaries. Following the fresh proceeds both ISP Blocker and Viggo Investment will hold 1.43% each. As per Entrackr’s estimates, Groww will be valued at $7 billion post-money. Groww has raised close to $600 million so far from investors including Peak XV, Tiger Global, Ribbit Capital, and YC Continuity. The company was last valued at approximately $3 billion after securing $251 million in its Series E round in October 2021. According to a company internal document, Groww reported a 31% jump in its revenue to Rs 4,056 crore in FY25 whereas its profit jumped 3X jump to Rs 1819 crore in the same period. Groww reported revenue of Rs 3,145 crore and an operating profit of Rs 545 crore in FY24. However, it paid a one-time tax of Rs 1,340 crore for shifting domicile to India, leading to a net loss of Rs 805 crore in FY24. Its audited financial numbers for the fiscal year ending March 2025 has yet to be reported with the RoC.

Eyewear brand Lenskart has filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in order to raise Rs 2,150 crore via a fresh issue. The company made a sharp turnaround from FY24 and turned profitable, driven by robust growth in revenue and controlled spending across key verticals. Lenskart’s operating revenue grew 23% to Rs 6,653 crore in FY25 from Rs 5,428 crore in FY24, according to its restated financial statement given in DRHP. The bulk of the company’s revenue came from the sale of goods such as prescription eyewear, sunglasses, contact lenses, and accessories which rose 23% to Rs 6,360 crore. Revenue from services such as memberships, home eye check-ups, and training grew 27% to Rs 133 crore, supported by the expansion of its Lenskart Gold programs, which grew to 68 lakh members by March 2025. Other operating income consisted of lease income, scrap sales, website licence fees, and support charges which remained steady at Rs 160 crore. Geographically, revenue from India rose 27% to Rs 4,015 crore. Lenskart added 282 new stores and saw its annual transacting customer base rise 23% to 99 lakh, while eyewear unit sales surged 30% to 2 crore. International markets contributed Rs 2,638 crore, up 17% from FY24; the brand expanded its overseas footprint with 52 new stores, growing its international customer base to 25 lakh. On the expense front, employee benefit expenses emerged as the largest cost component, which rose 27% to Rs 1,379 crore in FY25, followed by material costs which increased 20% to Rs 2,134 crore. Marketing costs also saw a 27% jump to Rs 448 crore. Meanwhile, commission and incentives fell slightly by 4% to Rs 733 crore. Depreciation expenses stood at Rs 797 crore, up 19% from the previous year. Overall, total costs rose 19% to Rs 6,619 crore in FY25 as compared to Rs 5,550 crore in FY24. This combination of steady revenue growth and calibrated cost management enabled Lenskart to post a net profit of Rs 297 crore in FY25, a substantial improvement from a Rs 10 crore loss a year earlier. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at 6.17% and 2.27% respectively. On a unit basis, the company spent Re 0.99 to earn a Rupee of operating revenue in FY25. The company recorded current assets worth Rs 3,630 crore in FY25, including Rs 865 crore in cash and bank balances. Lenskart converted into a public company in June this year in preparation for the listing. The public offering is being managed by a consortium of investment banks, including Kotak Mahindra Capital, Citigroup, Avendus, Axis Capital, Morgan Stanley, and Intensive Fiscal Services.

The company’s total income for Q1 FY26 grew to Rs 199 crore, up from Rs 157 crore in Q1 FY25. The Mumbai-based company operates in three segments: Consumer, Remarketing, and Classifieds. Income from the consumer segment formed 38% of the total operating revenue which increased to Rs 66 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 51 crore in Q1 FY25. Income from the remarketing and classified segment stood at Rs 59 crore and Rs 48 crore, respectively, in the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal year. On the expense front, employee benefits expenses formed 53% of the overall spending which went up a modest 6% to Rs 75 crore during the period. Including other costs, CarTrade’s overall expenses increased 8% to Rs 142 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 23 crore during Q1 FY25. The decent growth and controlled spending enabled CarTrade to double its net profit to Rs 47 crore in Q1 FY26, compared to Rs 23 crore in Q1 FY25. CarTrade’s share price is trading at Rs 1,871 (as of 10:56 AM) with a total market capitalization of Rs 8,886 crore ($1.03 billion).

The company’s revenue from operations rose to Rs 309 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 242 crore in Q1 FY25, according to its financial statement sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE). IndiQube reported a total income of Rs 324 crore in Q1 FY26, a significant increase from Rs 251 crore in Q1 FY25. This growth was largely driven by Rs 15 crore earned from other income during the quarter. The company did not disclose a revenue breakdown for the quarter. On the expense side, employee benefits increased 18% to Rs 20 crore in Q1 FY26. Finance cost accounted for 29% of the expense which increased 49% to Rs 110 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 74 crore in Q1 FY25, while depreciation and amortization rose to Rs 143 crore. Overall, Indiqube’s total expenses for the quarter increased 29% to Rs 374 crore from Rs 290 crore in Q1 FY25. At the end, the firm reported a 12% decrease in its loss to Rs 37 crore in Q1 FY26 as compared to Rs 42 crore in Q1 FY25. However, due to finance and depreciation accounting for nearly 68% of the expense, Indiqube reported positive EBITDA of Rs 203 crore in Q1 FY26. On a unit basis, the company spent Rs 1.21 to earn a rupee of operating revenue. We have reported numbers according to the Indian Accounting Standards whereas for IGAAP Eq. revenue and profit stood at Rs 313 crore and Rs 19 crore respectively for the quarter Q1 FY26. Indiqube Spaces’ Rs 700 crore IPO, comprising a Rs 650 crore fresh issue and Rs 50 crore offer for sale, was open from July 23–25, 2025, at a price band of Rs 225–Rs 237 per share. The company raised Rs 374 crore from anchor investors at the upper band before the issue, which was oversubscribed 12.41 times overall. Despite a grey market premium indicating a possible 4–10% listing gain, the shares debuted weak on July 30, 2025, listing at Rs 216 on the NSE and Rs 218.70 on the BSE at an 8.9% and 7.7% discount to the issue price, respectively. Currently, Indiqube’s share price is trading at Rs 219.81, giving it a total market capitalization of Rs 4,634 crore (about $528 million).
