Mumbai-based construction startup Infra.Market plans to raise around $60 million (INR 500 crore) in debt over the next two months. The company aims to secure working capital ahead of this year. This announcement follows Infra.Market's recent debt funding of $12 million from SK Finance and Kairus Dadachanji. In FY23, the startup achieved sales of INR 11,846.5 crore, a 90% increase from the previous year, but saw a 17% drop in net profit to INR 155.2 crore. With a valuation of $2.5 billion, Infra.Market has raised over $600 million in funding so far.

Construction goods and services platform Infra.Market is raising up to Rs 150 crore (approximately $18 million) in its Series E2 funding round. The new money hit the company’s coffers just three months after the announcement of $50 million from the Mars Fund. The board at Infra.Market has passed a resolution to issue 7,028 Series E2 preference shares at an issue price of Rs 213438.7 each to raise Rs 150 crore or $18 million, its regulatory filing accessed from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) shows. Out of the total sum of Rs 150 crores, the company has already received Rs 76.3 crores. Amit Vijaysinh Barad and Barad Sanjay Amarsinh have invested Rs 45 crores together, with the remaining funds contributed by various individual shareholders. Importantly, the Tiger Global-backed company also secured Rs 75 crore ($9 million) in debt funding from Innoven Capital. The firm also closed its Rs 150 crore debt round Yubi In July. According to TheKredible estimates, the company has been valued at around $2.6 billion post-allotment. The new funding seems to be part of a $150-200 million round that the company is eyeing. The firm is also preparing for an initial public offering (IPO), and may file its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) soon. Infra.Market has raised around $540 million across equity and debt To date. According to the startup intelligence data platform TheKredible, Tiger Global remains the largest external stakeholder followed by Accel and Nexus Ventures after the allotment of the fresh infusion. Founded by Souvik Sengupta and Aaditya Sharda in 2016, Infra.Market sells construction materials, infrastructure goods, and technical equipment. It is targeting the growing construction materials market, with a strong focus on the infrastructure sector. While the company is yet to file its annual statements for FY24, Infra.Market’s gross revenue rose 89% to Rs 11,846 crore in FY23. Its profit slipped 17% to Rs 155 crore in the same period (FY23). Infra.Market’s competition includes OfBusiness, Moglix, and Zetwerk, MetalBook, among others. Notably, OfBusiness is also eyeing to get listed on stock exchanges in the next fiscal year (FY26).

The debt infusion for the Mumbai-based firm follows the $50 million equity round from the Mars Unicorn Fund — a joint venture of Liquidity Group and MUFG. The board at Infra.Market has approved a special resolution to issue non-convertible redeemable debentures to raise Rs 150 crore. Previously, the committee had approved a resolution to raise up to Rs 500 crore through debentures. The new infusion is the tranche of Rs 500 crore. Yubi has invested Rs 80 crore while Raymond Limited, IKF Home Finance, and Samunnati Financial participated with Rs 25 crore, Rs 25 crore, and Rs 20 crore, respectively. Founded by Souvik Sengupta and Aaditya Sharda in 2016, Infra.Market sells construction materials, infrastructure goods, and technical equipment. It is targeting the growing construction materials market, with a strong focus on the infrastructure sector. The company caters to both institutional customers (B2B) and retail outlets (D2R) in the construction materials sector. As per the company, it supplies across 16 states in India and also exports to markets such as Dubai, Singapore, Jordan, and Italy, among others. To date, Infra.Market has raised around $520 million across equity and debt. Infra.Market is one of the handful of unicorns in the country which managed over nine-fold growth in gross scale between FY21 and FY23 and remained profitable. As per TheKredible, its gross revenue rose to Rs 11,846 crore in FY23 from Rs 1,240 crore in FY21. During the fiscal year ending March 2023, the firm’s profit slipped 17% to Rs 155 crore from Rs 187 crore in FY22. It competes with Zetwerk, OfBuisness and Moglix.

Tiger Global-backed Infra.Market divests stake in subsidiary, nets $20 mn

Infra.Market, a business-to-business construction material marketplace, has divested part of its stake in subsidiary RDC Concrete before its public listing. The Tiger Global-backed unicorn sold about $20 million worth of its stake to investors including Nikhil Kamath and Capri Global Family Office. The latest deal values RDC Concrete at $286 million. Infra.Market still retains about 80% ownership of the subsidiary and plans to take the company public in the coming months. Infra.Market ended FY24 with nearly INR 14,000 crore in sales and plans to go public in about 18 months.

Fintech firm BharatPe has raised Rs 85 crore (approximately $10 million) in debt through non-convertible debentures. This is the second debt infusion in the Peak XV and Coatue-backed company in 2024. The board at BharatPe has issued 500 Series E1 debentures at Rs 10,00,000 each and 3,500 Series F1 debentures at Rs 1,00,00 each to raise Rs 85 crore, its regulatory filing with the Registrar of Companies shows. Trifecta Venture debt pumped in Rs 50 crore while Innoven Capital participated with Rs 35 crore, shows filing. As per Entrackr’s sources, BharatPe completed its $100 million debt round early this year. InnoVen Capital was expected to pump in $60-70 million in BharatPe whereas Credit Saison invested the remaining capital in the Delhi-based company’s NBFC arm Trillion Loans. Debt from Innoven could be a part of the above amount. We have reached out to BharatPe to confirm if their investment is new or existing. Sources close to the fintech firm added that BharatPe chose debt as it is close to break-even and didn’t want to dilute equity. BharatPe raised its last equity round in August 2021 when it also checked into the unicorn club. It has raised over $650 million in equity and debt from the likes of Tiger Global, Dragoneer Investment Group, Steadfast Capital, Coatue Management, Ribbit Capital and others. According to TheArch report, BharatPe’s operating revenue increased by 16%, reaching Rs 1,370 crore in FY24, up from Rs 1,029 crore in FY23. The six-year-old company also reported a 70% reduction in losses, bringing them down to Rs 270 crore in the last fiscal year.

The development comes on the heels of $50 million funding announced by Infra.Market. The fund was pumped in by MARS Unicorn Fund which is a joint venture of Liquidity Group and MUFG. Founded by Anil Banchhor, RDC Concrete manufactures and supplies Ready Mix Concrete (RMC). Apart from normal concrete mixes of various grades, RDC Concrete also produces special concrete solutions using its infrastructure and technology and ensures product and service quality. RDC Concrete expects to have around 180 RMC plants by the end of FY25. With more than 10,000 retail touchpoints and over 30 flagship showrooms, Infra.Market supplies all its products under its own brand names Infra.Market, IVAS, Shalimar Paints and RDC. The firm has raised around $500 million across equity and debt and is valued at around $2.5 million. B2B e-commerce unicorn Zetwerk has raised Rs 75 crore (around $8.8 million) in debt funding from JM Financial, one of the banks it has reportedly appointed for its planned initial public offering (IPO). As per regulatory filings accessed via the Registrar of Companies (RoC), the company’s board issued 7,500 non-convertible debentures having a face value of Rs 1,00,000 each to raise the above-mentioned amount. Founded by Amrit Acharya, Srinath Ramakkrushnan, Rahul Sharma, and Vishal Chaudhary, Zetwerk connects buyers with suppliers for manufacturing projects. It partners with vendors specializing in fabrication, machining, casting, forging, and galvanizing of machine parts. It’s operational in India, the US, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, the Peak XV-backed company has raised over $850 million to date, including debt. This includes a $67 million Series F round led by Khosla Ventures at a $3 billion valuation, as exclusively reported by Entrackr. Zetwerk plans to raise at least $500 million through its IPO in the next 12 to 24 months, targeting a valuation of around $5 billion. While it has yet to disclose its FY25 numbers, the Bengaluru-based company reported a 26% increase in gross revenue, rising to Rs 14,435.72 crore in FY24 from Rs 11,448.66 crore in FY23. However, during the same period, losses surged 9X to Rs 919 crore, which included exceptional items worth Rs 371.7 crore. In the B2B e-commerce space, Zetwerk competes with Infra.Market, which recently raised $150 million in debt from Mars Growth Capital, and IPO-bound OfBusiness, which recently secured Rs 100 crore in funding. It also rivals Moglix, another unicorn in the segment.
