Cendana Capital, known for supporting emerging seed-stage fund managers, has closed $470 million in multiple new funds, increasing its total assets under management to around $2 billion. The funds will primarily serve U.S.-based investors with $340 million, while $67 million is allocated for managers outside the United States. Cendana Capital also has $30 million for direct startup investments and $30 million from the University of Texas, part of the larger $340 million fund. Founder Michael Kim anticipates changes in seed-stage venture capital as funds scale back in size due to challenges in generating high returns with larger funds.
