The attack, carried out by the Cactus ransomware variant, disrupted the company's Resource Advisor cloud platform and resulted in the theft of terabytes of confidential corporate data. The attackers are demanding a ransom payment and threatening to release the stolen data if their demands are not met. Schneider Electric is working on remediation and expects to restore access to the impacted systems within the next two business days.
