Elon Musk says there could be a 20% chance AI destroys humanity — but we should do it anyway

Elon Musk believes that the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) outweigh the risks, even though there is a chance it could end humanity. Speaking at a recent seminar, Musk stated that there is a 10-20% probability that AI could have a negative impact. However, AI safety researcher Roman Yampolskiy argues that the risk is much higher, potentially 99.999999%. Yampolskiy suggests that since it is impossible to control advanced AI, it would be best not to develop it at all. While Musk has advocated for AI regulation, he also founded a company, xAI, to further advance AI technology.
