E-commerce volumes spiked 23% during Black Friday sales: Unicommerce

According to Unicommerce, a leading e-commerce enablement platform in India, e-commerce order volumes surged by 23% during the Black Friday sales weekend in 2023 compared to the previous year. Black Friday has become a popular event in India, with consumers extending their post-Diwali shopping spree to take advantage of the discounts. While marketplace growth outpaced Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) brands during Diwali, the trend was reversed during Black Friday, with brand websites experiencing robust growth. Tier III cities saw the highest growth at 43%, followed by Tier I and Tier II cities. Fashion and beauty products remained popular, but there was also increased interest in FMCG and eyewear categories.
