However, another firm, Apptopia, suggests that the decline in daily active users may not be due to users leaving, but rather a lack of new users joining after the app rebranded. Despite declining usage, X still retains its pull, with its power users accounting for a significant portion of total time spent on the app. The tight integration of Threads with Instagram and the resources of Meta may give it a chance to compete with X, but other rivals may struggle to convince X users to switch.
