Delhi Draft Master Plan 2041: Does it take into account exigencies such as COVID-19?

The Master Plan for Delhi (MPD)-2041, the city's fourth strategic growth framework, aims to address issues such as housing shortage, infrastructure decentralization, and environmental sustainability. The plan proposes creating self-contained mixed-use areas for pandemic preparedness, promoting affordable rental housing, implementing transit-oriented development, fostering a 24-hour city, and addressing changing economic needs. It also focuses on managing mobility through shared transportation and parking management. Additionally, measures to tackle pollution through green-blue infrastructure, waste recycling, and improved water quality are included. Successful implementation will require multi-agency coordination and effective monitoring.
