Optimized Electrotech raises $6 Mn in Series A round. Deep-tech company Optimized Electrotech, specializing in imaging surveillance technology, has bagged $6 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Blume Ventures and Mela Ventures. The round also witnessed participation from 9Unicorns and existing investors, including Rajiv Dadlani Group and Venture Catalysts. The company had previously raised $4.5 million from its existing investors. The proceeds will be used to develop next-gen AI imaging payloads, high-speed space-based surveillance solutions, and to penetrate global markets, Optimized Electrotech said in a press release. Founded in 2017 and led by promoters Sandeep Shah and Dharin Shah, Optimized Electrotech aims to empower AI-driven imaging solutions for ISR and critical strategic applications. The company develops cutting-edge electro-optic systems, spanning the electromagnetic spectrum, enhancing defense, space, border security, and aerospace operations. By integrating onboard analytics, its advanced surveillance solutions provide real-time intelligence, strengthening situational awareness in high-stakes environments. Optimized Electrotech focuses on innovation, indigenous technology development, and strategic surveillance solutions. Its solutions facilitate governments, defense services, paramilitary forces, mining corporations, civic bodies, and large corporations to respond to unauthorized drone attacks swiftly. “Driven by strong government policies and an increasing focus on indigenous capabilities, it’s important to build critical mass within this window of opportunity. This funding round is a testament to the confidence our investors have in our vision. Advanced manufacturing startup Ethereal Machines has raised $13 million in a Series A round led by Peak XV Partners and Steadview Capital. Existing investors Blume Ventures, Enam Investments, and Sandeep Singhal also participated in this round. The funds raised will be utilized for R&D, building multi-axis CNC controllers and constructing its second smart factory in the next 12 months, Ethereal said in a press release. This new factory will span 250,000 square feet on the outskirts of Bengaluru. Founded by Kaushik Mudda and Navin Jain, decade-old Ethereal Machines produces precision engineering components via its proprietary multi-axis CNC machines. Its machines enable precision engineering components to be produced at fast and cost-effective rates. Ethereal caters to customers from the USA, Europe, Israel, and India. As per the company, it has manufactured precision components for numerous emerging companies in the deep-tech sector, including space-tech, drones, medical diagnostics, and thermal imaging. On average, Ethereal’s manufacturing solutions claim that it reduces costs for their customers by 30% and production lead times by 40%. The company also launched two new machines, Aura and Nimbus. The Bengaluru-based startup claims that it has seen a 4x increase in revenue and a 3x increase in production capacity in the last 12 months. Ethereal Machines had raised $7.3 million from Peak XV’s Surge, Blume Ventures and others in July last year. As per startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Blume was the largest external stakeholder in the company as of the last funding round with over 18% stake followed by Surge Ventures which controls more than 17% stake. Ethereal Machines reported Rs 2.30 crore in revenue from operations in FY23 against Rs 60 lakh in FY22. According to TheKredible, The company’s losses also increased to Rs 4.69 crore in FY23 from Rs 2.6 crore in the previous fiscal year.

Fresh farm produce and supply chain startup Handpickd (previously Sorted) is raising Rs 21.7 crore in an extended seed round led by Nitin Gupta and Genesia Ventures with the participation of BEENEXT, Stargazer Ventures, Eximius Ventures, Sunrise Sunset Family Trust, and others. The Handpickd’s board passed a resolution to approve the issue of 10,547 Series Seed B CCPS at an issue price of Rs 20,566 to raise Rs 21.7 crore or around $2.5 million, according to recent filings accessed from March 2025 from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) shows. Nitin Gupta, Partner at GG Enterprises and Genesia Ventures, led the round with an investment of Rs 6.48 crore and Rs 6 crore, respectively, followed by existing investor BEENEXT, which is contributing Rs 2.16 crore. Sunrise Sunset Family Office will invest Rs 2 crore, while the remaining amount will be covered by Infinyte Club Angel Fund and Eximius Ventures, Stargazer Ventures and Ankit Agarwal. As per filings, the company has already received around Rs 10.16 crore, with the remaining amount expected to follow shortly. The Blume Venture-backed company will be valued at around Rs 300 crore or $35 million, according to Entrackr’s estimates. Founded by Anant Goel along with Nitin Gupta and Sahil Madan, Handpickd operates on a B2B2C model, delivering fresh fruits and vegetables through a tech-enabled supply chain. The company sources produce directly from local farmers and vendors, leveraging a network of micro-entrepreneurs for efficient last-mile delivery. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Handpickd has raised around $9 million from investors including BEENEXT, Blume Ventures, Kunal Bahl, Rohit Kumar Bansal. The company recorded over 2.3X year-on-year growth in operating revenue, rising to Rs 17.5 crore in FY24 from Rs 7.4 crore in FY23. Its losses remained flat at Rs 2.1 crore during the fiscal year ending March 2024. Handpickd competes with other farm-to-fork funded startups including Otipy ($49 million), Fraazo ($61 million), Deep Rooted ($20 million) which shut their operations. Handpickd also competes with Kareena Kapoor-backed startup Pluckk which is set to raise $10 million.

The total funding raised by the Bengaluru-based startup now stands at $4.02 million. The proceeds will be used to scale up manufacturing and expand its team. Founded in 2019 by Animesh Kumar Jha, Volt14 focuses on developing silicon-based anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. It has also developed an in-house cylindrical battery cell format demonstrating energy density enabled by its silicon anode. Volt14 claims that its technology increases silicon content in anodes while maintaining performance levels and is currently being evaluated by multiple battery cell manufacturers. According to market research, the lithium-ion battery sector is projected to exceed $300 billion by 2034, driven by electric vehicle adoption and energy storage expansion. Blume Ventures, the lead investor in this round, is also one of the early backers of Battery Smart, which is the most funded startup in the space.
