- CAIT recommends suspending e-commerce festive sales due to deep discounts and cashbacks that monopolize the market. - Exclusive cashbacks by e-commerce platforms are anti-competitive and encourage grey market operations. - E-commerce companies use collusive partnerships to monopolize markets, as per the CCI observation. - Lack of price control allows e-commerce platforms to sell high-value consumer electronics at prices below brick-and-mortar retailers. - E-commerce companies misuse FDI norms to cover losses from deep discounting and cash-burning strategies. - Robust policy framework, ombudsman-led system, and discontinuing GST input credits for B2C e-commerce transactions are recommended by CAIT.
