Crunchyroll Is Killing Funimation for Good, And You'll Pay For It

Sony has announced that it will be shutting down the Funimation app and website on April 2. This move is part of the plan to unify Funimation and Crunchyroll, which Sony acquired in 2021. Funimation subscribers will need to migrate their accounts to Crunchyroll in order to continue accessing the anime they were watching. However, there are some drawbacks, as Crunchyroll does not support digital copies from Funimation's physical editions. Additionally, users will have to adjust to Crunchyroll's subscription fees, which may be higher than Funimation's.
