Omnichannel jewellery brand CaratLane has recorded 27% year-on-year growth during the third quarter of the ongoing fiscal year. Moreover, its EBITDA crossed Rs 130 crore in the same period. CaratLane's total income (excluding bullion and Digi Gold sales) surged to Rs 1,117 crore in Q3 FY25, up from Rs 879 crore in Q3 FY24, reflecting 27% year-on-year growth. The figures were reported in Titan’s quarterly results sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE). According to the company's press release, CaratLane has added 19 new stores in India, bringing the total to 305 stores across 128 cities. During the quarter ending December 2024, CaratLane also opened its first international store in New Jersey, United States of America. With the 22% growth in brand searches, EBITDA for CaratLane stood at Rs 131 crore during Q3 FY25, with a margin of 11.7%. Notably, Titan's total jewelry business, including Tanishq and Mia grew by 26.6% to Rs 16,134 crore in Q3FY24, compared to 12,742 crore in Q3 FY24. Apart from CaratLane, Tanishq, and Mia have added 11 and 13 new stores respectively in the domestic market during the last quarter. Titan Company Limited initially acquired a 62% stake in CaratLane for Rs 357.24 crore in 2016. Over time, it increased its holding to 71.09%. The company later acquired an additional 27.18% for Rs 4,621 crore, bringing its total stake to 98.64%, and subsequently purchased the remaining shares for Rs 60 crore in February last year. During the fiscal year ended March 2024, CaratLane posted a 42% year-on-year increase to Rs 3,081 crore from Rs 2,169 crore in FY23. However, its profit slipped 3.7% to Rs 79 crore in the same period. CaratLane directly competes with Bluestone which filed DRHP to SEBI for Rs 1,000 crore IPO and reported Rs 1,266 crore in operating revenue for FY24 with a loss of Rs 142 crore. Fine jewellery brand Giva saw a 66% year-on-year revenue growth to Rs 274 crore in FY24. Meanwhile, Melorra is yet to post its annual results for the last fiscal.

The sale of its products through offline stores and websites in India and the international market was the primary source of revenue, accounting for nearly 82% of total operating revenue, while its subsidiary, GlobalBees, contributed Rs 422 crore. The company also made Rs 44 crore from interest income which took its overall revenue to Rs 2,217 crore in Q3 FY25, compared to Rs 1,936 crore in Q3 FY24. For the omnichannel retailer, the cost of procurement of materials accounted for 66% of the overall expenditure which increased 17% year-on-year to Rs 1,451 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 1,239 crore in Q3 FY24. FirstCry’s employee benefits stood at Rs 177 crore in Q3 FY25 which includes Rs 28 crore as ESOP cost. The marketing, legal, rent, and technology were other overheads that pushed the overall expenditure to Rs 2,210 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 1,978 crore in Q3 FY24. The decent scale and controlled expenditure helped FirstCry to reduce its losses by 70% to Rs 15 crore in the last quarter. Notably, the company reported a positive EBITDA of Rs 152 crore. As of the last trading session, FirstCry’s share price stood at Rs 419 per share, with a total market capitalization of Rs 21,753.8 crore (approximately $2.5 billion).

Income from the remarketing and classified segment stood at Rs 58 crore and Rs 50 crore in the third quarter of the ongoing fiscal year. CarTrade also added Rs 17 crore from other non-operating businesses which tallied its overall revenue to Rs 193 crore in Q3 FY25, compared to Rs 152 crore in Q3 FY24. On the expense front, employee benefits expenses formed 53% of the overall spending which went up a modest 7.3% to Rs 73 crore during the period. This cost also includes share-based expenses of Rs 3.36 crore. CarTrade’s overall expenses increased 12% to Rs 140 crore in Q3 FY24 from Rs 125 crore during Q3 FY24. The strong growth and controlled spending enabled CarTrade to achieve a turnaround and post a net profit of Rs 45.5 crore in Q3 FY25, compared to a loss of Rs 23.5 crore in Q3 FY24. However, the company had already recorded a revenue of Rs 472 crore and a net profit of Rs 99 crore during the nine months of the ongoing fiscal year. This revenue source increased by 32.5% to Rs 102.4 crore in Q3 FY25. However, income from the sale of its devices generated Rs 12 crore of revenue. The cost of IoT devices, employee benefits, and technical services (outsourced) were the major cost elements, which pushed the total cost of the firm to Rs 79.4 crore in Q3 FY25 against Rs 60.5 crore in Q3 FY24. With the increase in scale, MapMyIndia recorded a 4.2% increase in its profit to Rs 32.3 crore during Q3 FY25 as compared to Rs 31 crore in the third quarter of the previous fiscal year (Q3 FY24). Fintech firm Paytm announced its financial results for the third quarter of the current fiscal year (Q3 FY25) on Monday. The Noida-based company reported revenue of Rs 1,828 crore and a net loss of Rs 208 crore for the period. According to Paytm’s unaudited consolidated quarterly report filed with the National Stock Exchange, its revenue from operations declined by 35.9% year-on-year from Rs 2,850 crore in Q3 FY24 to Rs 1,828 crore in Q3 FY25. However, on a quarter-on-quarter basis, the firm recorded a 10% increase in revenue compared to Q2 FY25 (the preceding quarter). Income from payment service revenue accounted for 55% of the total operating revenue which stood at Rs 1,003 crore in Q3 FY25 while the revenue from financial and marketing services were recorded at Rs 502 crore and Rs 267 crore in the same period. The company also added Rs 189 crore from other non-operating sources, bringing its overall revenue to Rs 2016.5 crore in Q3 FY25. For the fintech firm, its employee benefits remained the largest cost center accounting for 34% of the overall cost which decreased by 36% to Rs 756 crore in Q3 FY25. This includes Rs 182 crore as ESOP cost (non-cash). Its payment processing charges and marketing costs were reduced by 42% and 48.7% to Rs 570 crore and Rs 141 crore respectively in Q3 FY25 from Rs 982 crore and Rs 275 crore in Q3 FY24. Software, communication, legal, cashback, and other overheads took the total expenditure to Rs 2,220 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 3,216 crore in Q3 FY24. A reduction across all overhead departments enabled Paytm to narrow its losses by 6.3% to Rs 208 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 222 crore in Q3 FY24.

Titan-owned CaratLane has continued its growth trajectory as its revenue grew 42% in the fiscal year ending March 2024. The company’s profit dipped marginally due to aggressive expansion, though. CaratLane’s revenue from operations grew to Rs 3,081 crore in FY24 from Rs 2,169 crore in FY23, its consolidated annual statements sourced from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) show. CaratLane sells gold, silver, and diamond jewelry for both men and women through its website and network of offline stores. As per its website, the firm operates over 262 stores across 105 cities. The sale of the jewelry was the sole source of revenue for CaratLane in FY24. The company also earned Rs 25 crore from other financial activities, taking the overall revenue to Rs 3,106 crore in the said fiscal. For the jewelry maker, the cost of procurement of material/stones was naturally the largest cost center forming 69% of the total expenditure. To the tune of scale, this cost grew 48% to Rs 2077 crore in FY24. The expansion of stores appears to be the reason for the marginal dip in PAT. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at 34.88% and 8.98%, respectively. On a unit level, it spent Rs 0.97 to earn a rupee in FY24. Its financial guarantee, legal, advertising, finance, and other overheads took its total expenditure up by 44.1% to Rs 317 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 220 crore in Q3 FY24. In the end, Mobikwik reported a net loss of Rs 55.2 crore in Q3FY25, compared to a profit of Rs 5.1 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. During the first nine months of the ongoing fiscal year, its bottom line is negative at Rs 65.4 crore. Mobikwik made its debut on the stock exchange last Dec 24 with an impressive 59% premium on its issue price on the first day of its listing. Ixigo’s revenue from operations surged 41.5% to Rs 242 crore in Q3 FY25 in contrast to Rs 171 crore in Q3 FY24, as per the firm’s consolidated financial results sourced from the National Stock Exchange. The company generated the majority (49.6%) of its operating revenue from train ticketing which increased to Rs 120 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 95 crore in Q3 FY24. Flight and bus booking services contributed 28% and 21.4% respectively. Besides operating revenue, the firm also earned Rs 5.2 crore via interest and gains from financial assets during the quarter, taking its total topline to Rs 247 crore in Q3 FY25. Overall, the company's total costs grew 42.7% to Rs 224 crore in Q3 FY25 compared to Rs 157 crore in Q3 FY24. Ixigo's net profits dropped by 49.3% to Rs 15.5 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 30.6 crore in Q3 FY24, attributed to a deferred tax income of Rs 16.7 crore booked in Q3 FY24. On a PBT basis, profits showed a significant QoQ increase of 54% to Rs 21.4 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 13.9 crore in Q3 FY24. Ixigo is currently trading at Rs 127.7 with a total market capitalization of Rs 4,886 crore or $581 million.
