Bharat Startup Ecosystem Registry: Centre Launches Unified Database For Startup Stakeholders

The Indian government has unveiled the Bharat Startup Ecosystem Registry, a new database that will serve as a single platform for startups, investors, incubators, and other stakeholders in the country's startup ecosystem. The registry was launched during the curtain raiser ceremony of the Startup Mahakumbh, an event that aims to showcase entrepreneurship and bring together the various stakeholders of the startup ecosystem. The union minister, Piyush Goyal, considers startups the backbone of the country and hopes the Startup Mahakumbh will become an annual event to showcase the success stories of the Indian startup ecosystem. The event is expected to host over 1,000 startups and attract a large number of investors, incubators, and accelerators.
