Bharat needs culturally aligned, multimodal AI models, not Western-centric ones: NVIDIA exe

India needs multimodal AI models that consider diverse Indian cultures and sensitivities, moving away from Western-centric models, according to Mohit Sewak, an executive at NVIDIA. He emphasized the need for large-scale, multilingual datasets and synthetic data generation to achieve this. Sewak also highlighted the importance of voice as an essential element in Indian multimodal AI models, as India has a multitude of languages and dialects. He further emphasized the need for hierarchically more complex and sophisticated foundation models for India that align with the cultural diversity and sensitivities of the country. Sewak also discussed the importance of using Bharat-specific data and generating synthetic data to train Indian AI models optimally.
