India has a significant bamboo industry but faces a trade deficit as exports remain low and imports increase. Despite having the second-largest bamboo forest coverage globally, India contributes less than 1% to the global bamboo market currently dominated by China, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Amwoodo, a startup founded by NRI Agni Mitra, aims to change this by leveraging India's resources and promoting sustainable practices. The company supplies bamboo products to various businesses and is expanding into the B2C and B2G sectors.
