Apple to let music streaming apps in Europe link to own websites for purchases

Apple has announced new measures to comply with a European Union mandate regarding transparency and competition on its App Store. The move comes after the tech giant was fined 1.84 billion euros by the EU for stifling competition from music streaming rivals. As part of the new measures, Apple will allow music streaming app developers to inform users of alternative ways to purchase digital services and provide links to their own websites for purchases. This announcement gives more flexibility to music streaming apps like Spotify, which holds a significant share of the European market. However, Apple has stated that the EU's decision does not affect its ability to charge commissions for its services.
