American Express Platinum Card revamped: Enhanced benefits, but fees higher too

American Express has announced revisions to its Platinum Card, including an annual fee increase, new benefits, and the discontinuation of certain offers. The card offers exclusive hotel memberships, luxury brand discounts, and features such as access to elite hotel loyalty programs, discounts on international flights, airport lounge access, golf sessions, and concierge services. The annual fee has increased to Rs 66,000 plus GST, and new cardholders will receive a welcome gift worth up to Rs 60,000. Additional renewal benefits are available for cardholders who spend Rs 20 lakh within a membership year. The card also offers access to new elite-tier hotel memberships, savings on Apple products, and a complimentary membership to OTT platforms. However, the card may not provide substantial value for those prioritizing reward point accumulation for travel.
