Amazon Transportation Services reported a marginal growth in its revenue during the fiscal year ending March 2024. At the same time, the company reduced its losses by over 6% during the same period. AmazonTransport Services aka ATS’s revenue from operations grew 7.6% to Rs 4,888.9 crore in FY24 from Rs 4,543.3 crore in FY23, its standalone financial statement sourced from Tofler shows. Apart from operational income, ATS’s other income spiked 66% to Rs 57.3 crore in FY24 from Rs 34.5 crore in the previous fiscal year. This brought the total income for FY24 to Rs 4,946.2 crore. Amazon Transportation Services provides logistics and delivery solutions, supporting Amazon's e-commerce operations. Its services include order pickup, sorting, and last-mile delivery across India. It makes money via offering aforementioned services to Amazon India. The company’s total expenses excluding depreciation stood at Rs 4,690.8 crore in FY24 from Rs 4,310.2 crore in FY23, marking an 8.8% rise. Depreciation expenses, however, decreased by 10.2%, standing at Rs 313.7 crore for FY24, down from Rs 349.4 crore in FY23. Despite the growth in revenue, ATS managed to reduce its losses by 6.3% to Rs 80.3 crore in FY24 from Rs 85.7 crore in FY23. Its outstanding losses reached Rs 469.8 crore as of the end of FY24. Other equity components, including the share-based compensation reserve, increased 26% to Rs Rs 490.4 crore in the last fiscal year. While ATS’s parent company, Amazon Corporate Holdings continues to support its operations, the persistent losses indicate ongoing challenges in reaching profitability despite YoY revenue growth. In the past five years, Amazon India (through transport services) has expanded its partnership with Indian Railways, increasing from a single train in 2019 to over 120 trains by 2024, now covering 130 intercity routes across 91 cities.

Logistics company Delhivery is turning around the table by registering notable profits during the quarter ending June 2025, with a scale crossing Rs 2,100 crore in the same period (Q1 FY25). Delhivery’s operating revenue grew 4.6% to Rs 2,172 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 2,076 crore in Q4 FY24, according to the company’s unaudited consolidated quarterly report filed with the National Stock Exchange. Logistics services including (warehousing, last mile logistics, designing and deploying logistics management systems) were the primary sources of revenue for Delhivery. The Gurugram-based company added another Rs 110 crore from financial sources tallying the overall income to Rs 2,282 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 2,195 crore in Q4 FY24. For the logistics firm Delhivery, the cost of freight and handling formed 71% of its overall expenditure. To the tune of scale, this cost grew 4% to Rs 1,579 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 1,519 crore in Q4 FY24. The firm spending on employee benefits, advertising, finance, legal, and other expenditures took the overall expenditure to Rs 2,223 crore in Q1 FY25 compared to Rs 2257 crore in Q4 FY24. The continued growth in scale and reduction in total cost enabled Delhivery to turn black with Rs 52 crore in profits in Q1 FY24 as compared to Rs 68 crore loss in Q4 FY24. On a unit level, the firm spent Rs 1.02 to earn a rupee in Q1 FY25. Delhivery has also granted 1,66,122 employee stock options under its existing ESOP Plan 2012, tallying its total ESOP pool to 1.73 million, according to a different disclosure filed by Delhivery through NSE. Delhivery’s share price is currently at Rs 414.4 (as of August 2) and its total market capitalization stood at Rs 30,632 crore or $3.6 billion.

Decathlon India’s revenue from operations grew to Rs 4,008 crore in FY24 from Rs 3,920 crore in FY23, its annual standalone financial statements sourced from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) show. Decathlon India operates on a direct-to-consumer model, managing the design, manufacturing, and sale of its sports gear through large retail stores and an e-commerce platform. The company currently operates 90 stores across India. The sale of sports products was the sole source of revenue for Decathlon India. It also added Rs 58 crore from interest on investments and other non-operating income which tallied its overall to Rs 4,066 crore in FY24. The cost of procurement was the latest cost center forming 64.4% of the overall expenditure. This cost was reduced by 4.3% to Rs 2,448 crore in FY24, compared to Rs 2,559 crore in FY23. Decathlon India spent Rs 327 crore on employee benefits. Its controlled spending on power, rent, repairs, fuel, advertising, information technology, freight, franchisee fees, and legal/professional expenses led to an overall cost reduction of 4.5% to Rs 3,797 crore in FY24 from Rs 3,975 crore in FY23. Despite modest revenue growth, Decathlon India’s cost-control measures enabled it to post a net profit of Rs 197 crore in FY24, a sharp recovery from a Rs 18.6 crore loss in FY23. On a unit level, the company spent Re 0.95 to earn a rupee, with improved ROCE at 17.79% and EBITDA at 14.49%. By the end of the last fiscal year (FY24), its total current assets stood at Rs 1,247 crore, including Rs 325 crore in cash and bank balances. Last year, Decathlon India CEO Sankar Chatterjee mentioned that the company plans to double its revenue to Rs 8,000 crore within the next 3 to 5 years.

Shadowfax, one of India's leading new-age logistics and delivery platforms, delivered a strong financial performance in FY24, reducing its losses by 90%. Simultaneously, the company recorded over 33% year-on-year growth in operating revenue, and turned EBITDA positive with Rs 23 crore for the fiscal year ending March 2024. The Flipkart-backed firm’s revenue from operations spiked to Rs 1,884.8 crore in the last fiscal year, from Rs 1,415 crore in FY23, as per its annual financial statements filed with the Registrar of Companies. Shadowfax claims to provide 3PL logistics (third party logistics) to e-commerce and D2C firms across 2,500 cities and 18,000 pin codes in the country. The sale of logistics and delivery services are the only source of revenue for Shadowfax. Co-founder and chief executive Abhishek Bansal attributed the company’s sustainable growth in FY24 to its focus on value-added services, including reverse logistics, same-day delivery, and quick commerce offered through its Flash service. “While most logistics companies have chosen to focus on a single service and transition into B2B, Shadowfax has remained in the B2C space. Quick commerce gives us an edge, as we are the only 3PL offering these services,” said Abhishek Bansal, co-founder and CEO of Shadowfax, in a telephonic conversation with Entrackr. The company also generated Rs 11.6 crore from non-operating activities, contributing to a total income of Rs 1,896.4 crore in FY24. On the expense side, transportation and distribution (delivery partners) expenses accounted for the bulk of costs, surging 24.7% to Rs 966.2 crore in FY24. This cost represents 50.63% of total expenses during the last fiscal year. Vehicle running costs increased by 35.8% to Rs 394.5 crore, while costs related to lost shipments rose by 39.7% to Rs 94.6 crore. Employee benefit expenses marginally declined to Rs 211.5 crore, constituting 11.08% of total expenses, whereas other costs added another Rs 241.5 crore. Overall, the Bengaluru-based firm’s total expenses rose by 21.9% to Rs 1,908.3 crore in FY24. By the end of FY24, the company's net loss declined by 92% to Rs 11.8 crore, compared to Rs 142.6 crore in FY23. Shadowfax also achieved a positive EBITDA of Rs 23 crore in the last fiscal. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at -1.06% and 1.21%, respectively. On a unit basis, Shadowfax spent Rs 1.01 to earn a rupee of operating income in the last fiscal year. The company’s assets nearly doubled, rising to Rs 619.5 crore in FY24 from Rs 320.8 crore in FY23. Its cash and bank balance at the end of FY24 stood at Rs 102.8 crore. Just before FY24 ended, Shadowfax scooped up $100 million Series E round led by TPG NewQuest. Recently, Uber has partnered with Shadowfax to integrate its two-wheeler fleet with UberMoto, allowing Shadowfax to offer bike-taxi services during lean hours. Reports indicate that the Bansal-led company is gearing up to launch its initial public offering (IPO). It will join industry peers like Delhivery and Blackbuck, which are already listed on the stock exchange, while another player, Ecom Express, has also secured SEBI approval for its IPO. Shadowfax has emerged as the fastest-growing logistics company in India, evident from its performance relative to competitors. Ecom Express recorded a modest 2.3% growth, reporting flat revenue of Rs 2,607 crore in FY24. Meanwhile, listed competitor Delhivery posted 12.7% year-on-year revenue growth in the last fiscal year.

Amazon India’s marketplace revenue has continued to outpace Flipkart Marketplaces, with collections from its platform and related services crossing the Rs 25,000 crore mark and registering an adjusted EBITDA of Rs 588.6 crore in FY24. However, Flipkart’s top-line growth was significantly higher than that of Amazon Seller Services during the fiscal year ending March 2024. Amazon India’s revenue from operations grew 14.5% to Rs 25,406 crore in FY24 in contrast to Rs 22,198 crore booked in FY23, its standalone financial statements filed with the Registrar of Companies show. The entity generated 82.4% of the revenue from marketplace services while the remaining came from the services rendered to related parties including platform services, marketing, and royalty revenues. The firm also generated a non-operating income worth Rs 186.8 crore, pushing the overall revenue to Rs 25,592.8 crore in FY24. Amazon Seller Services is engaged in marketplace and marketing support services. Its ultimate holding company is Amazon.com, Inc., which is based in the United States of America. Moving over to the spending, delivery charges were the largest cost element forming 25.8% of the total expenses. The cost went up 9.1% to Rs 7,487.9 crore in FY24 from Rs 6,863.1 crore in FY23. Sales promotion and legal cum professional costs were the other two significant elements which formed around 12% each and stood at Rs 3,586.1 crore and Rs 3,530.2 crore, respectively, in FY24. During the year, Amazon Seller Services spent Rs 2,771.2 crore on employee benefits which also include share-based payments (ESOP cost) of Rs 682.7 crore. Amazon India marketplace arm’s total expenses increased 6.5% to Rs 29,062.3 crore during FY24 from Rs 27,283.6 crore in FY23. In the end, the company managed to control its losses by 28.5% to Rs 3,469.5 crore in FY24 as compared to Rs 4,854.1 crore in FY23. Its operating cash flows also turned positive to Rs 724.1 crore during the last fiscal year against Rs -1,542.1 crore in FY23. It is worth noting that the company reported an EBITDA loss of Rs 94.1 crore in FY24, excluding the ESOP cost (non-cash expenses), the company turned profitable on the operational level with an adjusted EBITDA of Rs 588.6 crore during the year. The highlights of the improved bottom line can also be seen in the EBITDA margin which strengthened to -0.37%. On a unit level, Amazon’s Indian entity spent Rs 1.14 to earn a rupee of operating revenue in FY24. The entity’s rival, Flipkart's marketplace arm reported Rs 17,907 crore in revenue with 21% YoY growth while the company’s losses shrank over 40% to Rs 2,358 crore in FY24.

The Delhi-based company's revenue rose from Rs 40 crore in FY21 to Rs 119 crore in FY22, and further to Rs 310 crore in FY23. The 26-year-old educational platform mainly provides offline coaching for Civil Services Examination (CSE). Income from coaching services accounted for 94.8% of the total operating revenue, which increased by 37.6% to Rs 384 crore in FY24 from Rs 279 crore in FY23. The remaining income is generated from the sale of study materials, including pen drives, books, test papers, and other resources. Drishti IAS operates seven institutes, including two in Delhi, three in Uttar Pradesh, and one each in Jaipur and Indore. Its Mukherjee Nagar Institute is the largest revenue contributor, accounting for 58% of the total coaching income. Employee benefits and faculty charges constituted 40% of its overall cost, increasing by 41% to Rs 117 crore in FY24 from Rs 83 crore in FY23. Drishti IAS's advertising spending also jumped 3.4X to Rs 51 crore in FY24. Drishti IAS's overall expenditure increased to Rs 289 crore in FY24 from Rs 197 crore in FY23. Higher spending on employee benefits and advertising resulted in a modest 3.4% increase in net profits, which rose to Rs 90 crore in FY24 from Rs 87 crore in FY23. The company's ROCE and EBITDA margin were recorded at 55.7% and 33.73%, respectively, while the expense-to-revenue ratio stood at Re 0.71. As of March 2024, the company's total current assets were valued at Rs 88 crore, with cash and bank balances of Rs 54 crore.

Meesho claimed to have achieved profitability in June 2023, and the SoftBank-backed firm appears on track to post full fiscal year profitability sometime in FY25 or FY26, as its adjusted losses plummeted 97% to Rs 53 crore for the fiscal year ending March 2024. Meesho registered a 33% year-on-year growth in operating revenue in FY24, reaching Rs 7,615 crore compared to Rs 5,735 crore in FY23, according to the company’s press release. The firm’s revenue growth was triggered by a 36% growth in orders. Home & kitchen, beauty & personal care, and baby essentials were top categories at the Bengaluru-based platform, as per the release. While the company hasn’t provided specific expense figures, Meesho claimed that organic growth and efficiencies in logistics through its own firm, Valmo Logistics, helped it to reduce overall costs in the last fiscal year. The new vertical was officially launched in February this year. Meesho achieved a dramatic reduction in year-on-year losses, shrinking 97% to Rs 53 crore in FY24 from Rs 1,569 crore in FY23, according to the release. The loss figure is adjusted, but it is unclear which costs have been excluded. The firm stressed that share-based compensation paid to employees was excluded from the adjusted bottom line. It’s worth noting that Meesho also concluded its largest ESOP buyback program worth $25 million during the last month of FY24. Meesho is the third-largest horizontal e-commerce platform in India, after Flipkart and Amazon, claiming 14.5 crore unique annual transacting users. “...With over 50 crore downloads, we continued to be the most downloaded shopping app,” the release mentioned. Meesho competes with Flipkart Internet and Amazon India’s marketplace arm. While Amazon India marketplace (B2B) unit has yet to disclose FY24 numbers, Flipkart Internet reported 26.4% growth in its gross revenue which stood at Rs 70,542 crore in FY24. According to an ET report, Meesho secured a $275 million tranche in May this year as part of a larger funding round, which included both primary and secondary components. The company is also working on relocating its domicile from the U.S. to India, though there are no definitive details on the timeline for its initial public offering (IPO).

NephroPlus runs over 275 dialysis centers in more than 170 cities in India and treats nearly 20,000 patients on a monthly basis. Revenue from these services accounted for 95% of the company’s income in FY24. On the expense side, the largest component of expenditure remained the cost of materials, which rose 19% to Rs 169 crore, accounting for over 31% of the total spend. Employee benefit expenses dropped slightly to Rs 91 crore from Rs 97 crore in FY23, while healthcare professional fees surged by 90% to Rs 59 crore. Hospital fees also increased to Rs 56 crore from Rs 48 crore, and other operational expenses climbed to Rs 166 crore. Overall, NephroPlus reported total costs rose 19.7% to Rs 541 crore in FY24. The strategic focus on cost discipline and improved margins helped NephroPlus post a net profit of Rs 35 crore in FY24, as compared to a net loss of Rs 12 crore a year earlier. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin improved to 9.40% and 18.96% respectively. On a unit basis, NephroPlus spent Rs 0.96 to earn a rupee of revenue in FY24. As of March 2024, the company reported current assets worth Rs 390 crore in FY24, out of which Rs 61 crore were in cash and bank balances. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, NephroPlus has raised approximately $212 million in funding to date, having IFC and Besemer Venture Partners as its lead investors. The company’s co-founder and CEO Vikram Vuppala owns 11.6% of the company. Recently, NephroPlus acquired seven new dialysis clinics in the Philippines. The firm is also planning to start its clinics in Saudi Arabia later this year.

The company’s quick commerce segment also saw remarkable growth, with revenue surging by 115% to Rs 689 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 320 crore in Q4 FY24. The segment's gross order value (GOV) growth was driven by an increase in order frequency and the addition of new dark stores. Scootsy Logistics contributed a major 45% of Swiggy’s overall operating collection. Income from this entity increased by 58% YoY to Rs 2,004 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 1,265 crore in Q4 FY24. During the last quarter, Swiggy invested Rs 1,000 crore in Scootsy to support expansion and growth. Swiggy’s Dine Out, Genie, Swiggy Mini, and other non-operating income took its total revenue to Rs 4,531 crore in Q4 FY25. For the full fiscal year ending March 2025, Swiggy’s revenue rose 35% to Rs 15,227 crore in FY25 from Rs 11,247 crore in FY24. On the cost side, the procurement of FMCG products for supply chain distribution formed 33% of its overall cost which increased by 52% to Rs 1,854 crore in Q4 FY25. Meanwhile, the delivery charges saw 27% growth to Rs 1,161 crore in Q4 FY25. Swiggy spent Rs 695 crore and Rs 978 crore on employee benefits and advertising, respectively. Overall, Swiggy’s total expenses for the quarter increased 53% to Rs 5,609 crore from Rs 3,668 crore in Q4 FY24. On a fiscal-on-fiscal year basis, its total expenses increased to Rs 18,725 crore in the quarter ending March 2025 from Rs 13,947 crore in FY24. The 53% growth in expenditure led losses to increase by 95% to Rs 1,081 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 555 crore in Q4 FY24. On a fiscal-on-fiscal basis, Swiggy’s losses spiked 33% to Rs 3,117 crore in FY25 from Rs 2,350 crore in FY24.

Revenue from product sales accounted for 91.62% of the total operating revenue, which increased by 17.1% to Rs 391.5 crore in FY24. The remaining GMV came from logistics and marketing services, which stood at Rs 35.8 crore. CityMall also made an additional income of Rs 32 crore from interest on deposits and investments that brought its total income to Rs 459 crore in the last fiscal year, compared to Rs 378 crore in FY23. On the expense front, the cost of procurement of products was the largest cost center which rose 20.4% to Rs 390 crore in FY24. CityMall’s employee benefit expenses grew by 7.7% to Rs 91 crore, while transportation costs jumped 45.5% to Rs 56 crore. Overall, the Gurugram-based company’s total expenses increased by 17.7% to Rs 615.2 crore in FY24, compared to Rs 522.7 crore in FY23. In the end, losses for the Accel-backed firm increased by 10% to Rs 159 crore in FY24 from Rs 145 core in FY23. Its ROCE and EBITDA Margins stood at -36.18% and -30.34%, respectively. On a unit basis, the company spent Rs 1.44 to earn a rupee of operating revenue in FY24. The Gurugram-based company reported total current assets of Rs 427 crore at the end of FY24, including Rs 187 crore in cash and bank balance. CityMall has raised over $110 million in funding to date including its $75 million Series C led by Norwest in March 2022. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible Elevation Capital is the largest external stakeholder followed by Accel and Jungle Ventures. DealShare, one of CityMall's closest competitors, saw a 75% decline in gross scale in FY24, while its losses decreased by 66% in the last fiscal.
