Exclusive: Aerospace parts maker Aequs to convert into public company Aerospace component maker Aequs is gearing up for its initial public offering (IPO) in 2025 and has taken a concrete step by passing a special resolution to convert into a public company. The board at Aequs has passed a resolution for approval to change its status to a public company and rename it from “Aequs Private Limited” to “Aequs Limited”, as per its regulatory filing. The company is reportedly planning to launch an IPO worth $200 million later this year. The offer will comprise both a fresh issue of equity shares and an offer for sale (OFS) component, according to company filings. Aequs recently entered into a joint venture with Canadian aerospace systems manufacturer Magellan Aerospace to establish a sand casting facility in Belagavi, India. The partnership is expected to help Aequs transition from modest year-on-year growth to a more robust trajectory. Founded in 2006 by Aravind Melligeri, Aequs is a contract manufacturing company that provides end-to-end product solutions for the aerospace, toys and consumer goods industries. Using its integrated manufacturing ecosystems, Aequs produces complex aerospace parts to meet the high standards of global aircraft supply chains. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, the Belgaum-based company has raised around $95 million including a $54 million round led by Amansa Capital in October 2023. The company is currently valued at approximately $240 million. For the fiscal year ending March 2024, Aequs reported a 19% year-on-year growth in operating revenue to Rs 965 crore compared to Rs 812 crore in FY23. The company reduced its losses by 87% to Rs 14.2 crore during the same period.

Omnichannel jewellery retailer Bluestone has raised Rs 40 crore (approximately $4.7 million) in debt funding, led by BlackSoil with participation from Caspian Impact Investments, ahead of its planned initial public offering (IPO). The board at Bluestone allotted 800 non-convertible debentures at an issue price of Rs 5,00,000 each to raise the aforementioned sum, according to its regulatory filing with the Registrar of Companies (RoC). Blacksoil led the debt round with Rs 30 crore investment ($3.5 million) while Caspian Impact Investments participated with Rs 10 crore. Recently, in December 2024, Bluestone filed a draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI for an IPO, which consists of a fresh issue of equity shares up to Rs 1,000 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 2.398 crore equity shares to provide a complete exit to Samma Capital, Ivycap Ventures, and Kalaari Capital. Founded in 2011, the omnichannel jewellery brand BlueStone specializes in high-value jewellery, offering a range of gold and diamond rings, pendants, chains, and earrings through its retail stores and online platform. According to the DRHP, it operates over 203 stores across 86 cities. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, BlueStone has raised approximately $262 million across multiple funding rounds, including a Rs 900 crore pre-IPO round led by Prosus, out of which Rs 300 crore is secondary in August last year. In FY24, BlueStone recorded a 64% year-on-year increase in revenue, rising to Rs 1,266 crore from Rs 771 crore in FY23. During the same period, the company also narrowed its losses by 15%, reducing them to Rs 142 crore in FY24.

B2B credit management platform CheQ has raised Rs 35 crore or $4.2 million in its extended seed round from new and existing investors. The funding for the Bengaluru-based firm came after a gap of 18 months. The board at CheQ has passed a special resolution to issue 12,952 Seed1 cumulative convertible preference shares at an issue price of Rs 26,989 each to raise Rs 35 crore, its regulatory filing accessed from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) shows. 3one4 Capital invested Rs 12.49 crore while Venture Highway Fund and Multiply Ventures pumped in 6.24 crore and 2.08 crore, respectively. Individual investors including Lloyd Dizon Balajadia, Madhav Prakash Sehth, Vishal Gupta, and Deepk Tuli have collectively put in Rs 14.2 crore. As per filings, the company will use these funds for growth, expansion, marketing, and general corporate purposes as decided by the board. In June 2022, CheQ raised $10 million in Seed funding led by Venture Highway and 3one4 Capital. Following the fresh proceeds, 3one4 Capital holds 10.95% of the company while Venture Highway and Multiply Ventures command 11.45% and 2.49% respectively. It’s worth noting that these holdings exclude employee stock options and the firm’s cap table when we factor in the ESOP pool component. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, the company has been valued at around Rs 451 crore or $55 million (post-money) in the new funding round. Founded in 2022 by Aditya Soni, CheQ helps customers simplify the discovery and management of all credit products and allows you to pay your credit card bill, and EMI on a single platform. The startup has raised $15 million to date including its $10 million seed round led by Venture Highway and 3one4 Capital in June 2022. CheQ remained a pre-revenue stage firm with a revenue of only Rs 2 crore during the fiscal year ended March 2023. However, the losses for the three-year-old firm stood at Rs 19.4 crore in the same period. CheQ competes with fintech unicorn CRED which has secured around $1 billion to date and was valued at $6.4 billion in its last fundraise. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredibe, it posted Rs 1,400 crore in revenue with a loss of Rs 1,347 crore during FY23.

Exclusive: Oxyzo secures Rs 100 Cr debt Fintech unicorn Oxyzo has secured Rs 100 crore (approximately $12 million) in debt from AK Capital Finance, a subsidiary of merchant banker A.K. Capital Services Ltd. The boards at Oxyzo allotted 1,00,000 non-convertible debentures to AK Capital at an issue price of Rs 10,000 each to raise Rs 100 crore, its regulatory filing sourced from the Registrar of Companies shows. The aforementioned debentures are issued for a tenure of 24 months and carry an interest rate of 9.75% per annum, the filing added. The proceeds will be used to augment the long-term resources of the company and meet working capital requirements. Oxyzo is the lending arm of B2B e-commerce unicorn OfBusiness, providing customized credit solutions for SMEs. It offers a range of loan products, including term loans, working capital solutions, low-interest rates, and collateral-free credit options. According to data intelligence platform TheKredible, the Gurugram-based company reported operating revenue of over Rs 900 crore and a profit of Rs 290 crore for the financial year ending 2024. Oxyzo’s net profit grew 11.38% to Rs 82.89 crore and sales jumped 27.43% to Rs 282.80 crore in the quarter ended December 2024 (Q3 FY25), compared to Rs 221.93 crore in December 2023. The Ruchi Kalra-led firm achieved unicorn status by raising $200 million in its first external funding round, and it became the first startup to surpass a $1 billion valuation during its Series A round. As per TheKredible, OFB group including promoters holds 74.5% while Alpha Wave is the largest external stakeholder with 7.4% followed by Tiger Global.

Exclusive: Stanza Living secures debt from Alteria and Innoven Capital Managed accommodation provider Stanza Living secured Rs 60 crore (approximately $7 million) in debt funding from Alteria Capital and Innoven Capital. Previously, Stanza Living raised Rs 110 crore ($13 million) in a bridge round led by Alpha Wave, as exclusively reported by Entrackr. The Stanza Living’s board issued 6,000 non-convertible debentures at a face value of Rs 1,00,000 each to raise the above-mentioned amount, its regulatory filing accessed from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) shows. Alteria Capital invested Rs 35 crore ($4.1 million) while Innoven Capital contributed with Rs 25 crore ($2.9 million) in the round. Founded in 2017, Stanza Living is a managed accommodation startup that offers hassle-free living for students and young professionals moving to new cities. The company claims to have over 75,000 beds across 24 cities in India. The Delhi-based startup has raised over $240 million to date across multiple debt and equity rounds from investors such as Alpha Wave, Peak XV Partners, Accel, and Z47, according to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible. The Accel-backed company is yet to file its financials for FY24 and FY25. In FY23, its revenue rose to Rs 442 crore from Rs 115 crore in FY22, while losses widened 18.71% to Rs 495 crore during the same period. Stanza Living competes with Your-Space, which recently raised Rs 70 crore in debt, and Truliv, which entered into a strategic equity partnership with Bennett, Coleman and Company Limited (BCCL). Other competitors include Colive, Settl, Union Living, and Coho.

Education-focused NBFC Auxilo has raised Rs 50 crore (approximately $6 million) in non-convertible debt from AK Capital Finance. This marks the first fundraise of the Mumbai-based company in 2023. The board at Auxilo has approved the allotment of 5,000 non-convertible debentures (NCDs) at an issue price of Rs 1,00,000 each for a consideration of Rs 50 crore, the company’s regulatory filings with the Registrar of Companies show. The offer also includes an option for an additional subscription (green shoe option) of Rs 25 crore which will take the total to Rs 75 crore. Established in 2017, Auxilo offers student loans for pursuing education within India or abroad. It also extends loans to educational institutions for infrastructure and working capital requirements. Auxilo has raised over $100 million across equity and debt since its inception and it competes with well-funded firms such as Grayquest, Avanse Financial, Financepeer, Propelld, Leap Finance, and Eduvanz. In July last year, Auxilo scooped Rs 470 crore in a funding round led by Tata Capital. As per the startup intelligence platform TheKredible, the company raised that capital at a post-money valuation of around $250 million. Auxilo’s revenue from operations grew 2X to Rs 178 crore in FY23 from Rs 87 crore in FY22 (the revenue includes net gain on fair value worth Rs 4.4 crore in FY23 and Rs 1.4 crore in FY22). It primarily makes money through processing fees, interest received on loan disbursements and commissions. As per TheKredible, the company’s profits also surged two-fold to Rs 25.7 crore during the year from Rs 12.4 crore in FY22. As of July 2023, Auxilo claims to have funded over 7,500 students across over 900 universities in over 25 countries. During FY22, the company’s loan book (asset under management) stood at Rs 769 crore comprising education loans of Rs 605.70 crore (78.73%) and institute loans worth Rs 163.60 crore (21.27%). While the company did not provide the breakup for FY23, its loan book stood at Rs 1,691 crore in the previous fiscal year.
