Zoho-backed Ultraviolette reports Rs 32 Cr revenue and Rs 116 Cr loss in FY25 Electric mobility firm Ultraviolette Automotive grew its operating scale by 115% in the fiscal year ending March 2025. However, its losses also rose 88% and crossed the Rs 115 crore threshold during the same period due to a more than 2X surge in the cost of parts, batteries, and other inputs. The company’s revenue from operations grew to Rs 32.3 crore in FY25 from Rs 15 crore in FY24, according to its annual financial statements sourced from the Registrar of Companies (RoC). Founded in 2015 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, Ultraviolette designs performance-oriented, aspirational EV two-wheelers. Revenue from the sale of these two-wheeler vehicles was the major source of revenue for the company during the last fiscal year. According to Vahan data, the company has sold a total of 547 vehicles in FY25. The cost of materials was not the primary expenditure for the two-wheeler manufacturer. Instead, employee benefit expenses emerged as the largest cost driver, making up 31% of the total expenses. This cost rose 28% to Rs 59 crore in FY25. The company also spent Rs 7.6 crore in research and development and Rs 7 crore in IT expenses in the same period. Cost of material, however, jumped 2.2X to Rs 33 crore in FY25 from Rs 15 crore in FY24, while advertising spiked 4.8X to Rs 29 crore in FY25. The company’s depreciation stood at Rs 27.5 crore. Overall, total expenses rose 77% to Rs 189 crore in FY25 from Rs 107 crore in the previous year. With expenses far outpacing revenue growth, Ultraviolette’s net loss increased 88% to Rs 116 crore in FY25 from Rs 61.6 crore in FY24. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin widened to -40.88% and -396.75% respectively. On a unit basis, the firm spent Rs 5.85 to earn a rupee in FY25, an improvement from Rs 7.13 spent per rupee of revenue in the previous year. Ultraviolette closed the fiscal with Rs 46 crore in cash and bank balances and current assets worth Rs 170 crore. According to TheKredible, Ultraviolette has raised a total of $100 million of funding till date, having TVS Motor Company and Mudhal Partners as its lead investors. The company’s co-founders Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan together own 29% of the company.

After clocking a 114% year-on-year revenue growth in FY24, the audio content platform reported a sharper 175% jump in its scale in FY25. However, the IPO-bound firm slipped deeper into losses during the period due to high advertising spends. Kuku FM’s operating revenue surged to Rs 242 crore in FY25 from Rs 88 crore in FY24, according to its financial statements sourced from the Registrar of Companies (RoC). Kuku FM offers a diverse range of audio content across genres such as business, self-help, personal finance, history, religion, entertainment, and fitness. Revenue from paywalled subscription sales was the sole source of income for Kuku FM. The company also earned Rs 16 crore from other income which pushed its total income to Rs 258 crore in FY25. The sharp rise in revenue was accompanied by a steep increase in expenses. Kuku FM’s total expenses more than doubled, to Rs 411 crore in the last fiscal year from Rs 200 crore in FY24. Advertising expenses emerged as the biggest cost component which accounted for nearly 70% of the total expenditure. To the tune of scale, this cost rose 2.8x to Rs 285 crore in FY25 from Rs 102 crore in FY24. Employee benefit expenses increased 28% to Rs 60 crore, while information technology expenses rose 28% to Rs 27 crore during the year. Depreciation costs tripled to Rs 9 crore in the same period. The aggressive spending pushed Kuku FM’s loss to increase by 59% to Rs 153 crore in FY25 from Rs 96 crore in FY24. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at -163.73% and -65.29% respectively. On a unit level, it spent Rs 1.70 to earn a rupee of operating revenue in FY25, compared to 2.27 in FY24. The company reported current assets worth Rs 268 crore, including Rs 117 crore in cash and bank balances during the year. According to TheKredible, the company has raised a total of $157 million of funding till date. Having The Fundamentum Partnership, Vertex Ventures, and Krafton as its lead investors which owns 12.79%, 11.12%, and 10.17% of the company respectively. Kuku FM is also gearing up for the public markets. The audiobooks and storytelling platform has reportedly shortlisted four investment banks to help it raise up to Rs 3,000 crore through an initial public offering (IPO). The proposed IPO is expected to comprise a mix of fresh issuance and an offer for sale (OFS).

Momo’s revenue from operations grew to Rs 470 crore in the last fiscal year from Rs 413 crore in FY23, its consolidated financial statements sourced from the Registrar of Companies show. Launched in 2008 by Sagar Daryani and Binod Homagai, Wow! Momo Foods operates three QSR brands—Wow Momo, Wow China, and Wow Chicken. The company claims to have a network of 630 outlets across 35 cities and a workforce of 6,000 employees. Revenue from the sale of momos, food, and beverages contributed 97% of the total operating income, which grew by 11.5% to Rs 456 crore in FY24. The remaining revenue came from frozen momo sales. Wow! Momo also added Rs 9 crore from interest on deposits, bringing the overall revenue to Rs 479 crore in the last fiscal year. For the QSR firm, the cost of material procurement formed 26.6% of total expenditure, increasing 15.3% to Rs 158 crore in FY24 in line with revenue growth. Employee benefit expenses declined 27.7% to Rs 120 crore in the previous fiscal year. Expenses related to power/fuel, rent, advertising, commissions, finance costs, and other overheads contributed to a 11.9% rise in total expenditure, reaching Rs 593 crore in FY24. The 13.8% increase in scale, along with controlled expenses, helped Wow! Momo maintain steady losses at Rs 114 crore in FY24. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at -8.33% and 7.93%, respectively, with an expense-to-revenue ratio of Rs 1.26. By the end of FY24, Wow! Momo's total current assets were recorded at Rs 250 crore, including Rs 175 crore in cash and bank balances. Wow! Momo has raised over Rs 600 crore to date, including $42 million (Rs 350 crore) in its Series D led by Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the sovereign wealth fund of Malaysia. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Tiger Global is the largest external stakeholder followed by Treeline Investment. Wow! Momo is reportedly aiming for Rs 650 crore in revenue in FY25 with improved unit economics and has its sights set on going public in 2027.

Snapdeal’s revenue from operations increased by 2.1%, rising to Rs 379.76 crore in FY24 from Rs 371.96 crore in FY23, according to its consolidated financial statements filed with the RoC. Snapdeal’s primary revenue streams include marketing services, e-commerce enablement, and other ancillary sources. Marketing services continued to be the largest contributor, generating Rs 252.55 crore, though it witnessed a dip of 9.6% compared to FY23. Its enablement revenue increased by 14.8% to Rs 103.36 crore, reflecting the platform’s growing traction among value-focused sellers. Additionally, revenue from other sources surged over 8X to Rs 23.85 crore in FY24. Snapdeal’s strategic focus on targeted cost-reduction initiatives led to significant expense savings across multiple categories. The company’s spending on employee benefits reduced by 48.5% to Rs 158.4 crore in FY24 from Rs 307.53 crore in FY23. Promotional costs were also reduced by 23.5% to Rs 70.37 crore during the same period. Overall, the Gurugram-based firm’s total expenditure dropped by 21.4% to Rs 540.76 crore in FY24 from Rs 687.93 crore in FY23. The company’s improved performance was visible in the 43.2% reduction of loss to Rs 160.38 crore in FY24. Further, most of this loss seems to be on account of non-cash heads, including the revaluation of a put option held by Unicommerce investors to the tune of Rs 110 crore, leading to an adjusted EBITDA loss of Rs 16 crore, which shows that the company is nearing its target of reaching profitability. As per the filings, Snapdeal reduced its stake in Unicommerce, generating Rs 33 crore from a secondary sale of 3.4% stakes in May/June 2024 prior to the IPO and an offer for sale of 9.2% stake for Rs 81 crore in the IPO completed in August 2024.

These plans, spanning 3 to 36 months, contributed 88% of the operating revenue, which increased to Rs 641 crore in the last fiscal year. The remaining operating income came from book sales to students under specific plans, which contributed Rs 75 crore, with the balance from market research services. The company also earned Rs 132 crore in non-operating income from interest on deposits and investments, which took its total revenue to Rs 773 crore during the last fiscal year. On the expense side, legal and professional fees formed the largest cost center for the firm, contributed nearly 31% of total expenses, and amounted to Rs 91 crore in FY25. This cost increased 42% compared to FY24. Its employee benefits expenses surged 25% to Rs 85 crore in FY25. Web hosting, payment gateways, advertising, business promotion, and other overheads pushed the Bengaluru-based company’s total expenditure to Rs 295 crore in FY25 from Rs 225 crore in FY24. Stable year-on-year growth in scale, coupled with controlled expenditure, enabled the Microsoft-backed DailyRounds to report a 13% increase in profits to Rs 363 crore in FY25 from Rs 320 crore in FY24. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at 21.21% and 57.29%, respectively. On a unit level, DailyRounds spent Rs 0.46 to earn a rupee of operating revenue. At the end of March 2025, its total current assets stood at Rs 1,826 crore, including cash and bank balances of Rs 1,756 crore, nearly 2.5 times higher than FY24.

Service fees from these offerings contributed 86% of its revenue, which rose 47% to Rs 123 crore in FY25 from Rs 84 crore in FY24. The remaining 14% came from lease rentals, which stood at Rs 19 crore during the same period. Including other non-operating activities such as treasury gains, its total income rose marginally to Rs 144 crore during FY25. Innoviti’s total expenses grew 15% to Rs 207 crore in FY25 from Rs 180 crore a year ago, largely guided by a sharp increase in subvention and service fees which accounted for 40% of the total cost. This cost surged 88% to Rs 82.5 crore in FY25 from Rs 44 crore in FY24. Employee benefit expenses, however, declined 19% to Rs 43 crore in FY25 from Rs 53 crore in FY24. On the other hand, depreciation costs rose 32% YoY to Rs 33 crore from Rs 25 crore in FY24. Other expenses, sub-contractor charges and overheads added the rest Rs 49 crore. In the end, Innoviti narrowed its net loss by 11% to Rs 62 crore in FY25, against Rs 70 crore in FY24. The company’s EBITDA loss stood at Rs 26 crore with EBITDA margin improving to -18.2% from -32.1%. Its ROCE margin stood at -62.77% in the same period. On the balance sheet front, Innoviti’s total assets remained stable at Rs 128 crore, with current assets of Rs 100 crore in FY25, including Rs 41 crore in cash and bank balances. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Innoviti has raised a total of $158 million of funding till date, having Bessemer Venture Partners and FMO as its lead investors. The Noida-based company’s founder Rajeev Agrawal owns 10% of the company. Earlier this year, Agrawal said the company aimed to achieve operating profitability within the next two quarters. He also mentioned that IPO planning had begun, with a target to go public within the next 12 months.

The 26-year-old educational platform mainly provides offline coaching for Civil Services Examination (CSE). Income from coaching services accounted for 94.8% of the total operating revenue, which increased by 37.6% to Rs 384 crore in FY24 from Rs 279 crore in FY23. The remaining income is generated from the sale of study materials, including pen drives, books, test papers, and other resources. Drishti IAS operates seven institutes, including two in Delhi, three in Uttar Pradesh, and one each in Jaipur and Indore. Its Mukherjee Nagar Institute is the largest revenue contributor, accounting for 58% of the total coaching income. Employee benefits and faculty charges constituted 40% of its overall cost, increasing by 41% to Rs 117 crore in FY24 from Rs 83 crore in FY23. Drishti IAS's advertising spending also jumped 3.4X to Rs 51 crore in FY24. Drishti IAS's overall expenditure increased to Rs 289 crore in FY24 from Rs 197 crore in FY23. Higher spending on employee benefits and advertising resulted in a modest 3.4% increase in net profits, which rose to Rs 90 crore in FY24 from Rs 87 crore in FY23. The company's ROCE and EBITDA margin were recorded at 55.7% and 33.73%, respectively, while the expense-to-revenue ratio stood at Re 0.71. As of March 2024, the company's total current assets were valued at Rs 88 crore, with cash and bank balances of Rs 54 crore.
