Artificial intelligence startup UptimeAI has raised $14 million in its Series A funding round led by WestBridge Capital. The round also saw participation from existing investor Emergent Ventures and new investor Aditya Birla Ventures. UptimeAI will use the proceeds to scale up its tech platform, expand product portfolio and presence in North America, Middle East and Asia. The company has bases in Bengaluru and San Francisco as well. Five-year-old UptimeAI creates AI-based solutions that help plant operators maximise efficiency and reliability. As per the company, its team has core competency in areas including power, oil and gas, chemicals, metals, and aerospace among others. UptimeAI’s four modules include – connect the dots, no code predictive alerts, inferencing engine for prescriptive actions, and continuous self-learning. It has a patented system and method for monitoring complex structures to identify the root cause of inefficiencies. In September last year, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) tied up with UptimeAI to optimize operational efficiency. Led by Jagadish Gattu and Vamsi Yalamanchili, UptimeAI was one of the selected startups in the YourNest SOAR Program. In February 2021, UptimeAI also raised $1.5 million in seed funding from YourNest Venture Capital and angel investors. UptimeAI competes with Tiger Global-backed Infinite Uptime, which raised $18.85 million in a round in May last year. Other global competitors include Sight Machine , Prospection SparkCognition, and Augury.

Infinite Uptime, a provider of predictive maintenance solutions for industrial machinery, has secured $35 million in its Series C round, led by Avataar Ventures with participation from StepStone Group and LGVP, along with existing investors Tiger Global and GSR Ventures. The Pune- and California-based startup has raised around $65 million to date, including an $18.85 million Series B3 round in May 2023. The fresh funds will drive Infinite Uptime's growth, facilitating the advancement of its IoT platform, broadening its presence in the manufacturing sector, and expanding its footprint in the U.S. and other international markets. Founded in 2015 by Raunak Bhinge, Infinite Uptime leverages advanced AI and machine learning to remotely diagnose and predict machinery issues, aiming to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime. The startup currently serves 800 plants in nearly 30 countries and focuses on manufacturing industries, including cement, steel, metals & mining, FMCG, chemicals, oil & gas, power, pharma, tires, automotive, construction, pipes, and others. For the fiscal year ending in March 2024, Infinite Uptime's revenue surged more than two-fold to Rs 54.74 crore in FY24 from Rs 24.71 crore in FY23. The company managed to control its losses to Rs 8.4 crore in FY24 from Rs 13.5 crore in the previous year. Infinite Uptime competes with UptimeAI, which raised $14 million in a Series A round in July last year. Other global competitors include Sight Machine, Prospection, SparkCognition, and Augury.

EV financing and vehicle lifecycle management platform Vidyut has raised $10 million in its Series A round led by 3one4 Capital. The round also saw participation from new and existing investors including Saison Capital, Zephyr Peacock, Force Ventures, Alteria Capital and Udaan CEO Sujeet Kumar. The Series A round is a mix of equity and debt funding. Entrackr had exclusively reported about Vidyut’s new fundraise earlier this month. Previously, it closed its seed round of $4 million in a mix of equity and debt led by Force Ventures and others in December 2022. This funding emphasizes the company’s commitment to improve EV ownership for SMBs and the startup will utilize the new funds to scale its offerings to the EV ecosystem, the startup said in a press release. Vidyut, which offers EV insurance, lifecycle management, and EV resale, is also looking to expand its presence to 40 Indian cities. The company will also double its team size by the end of FY25 as it prepares to build a full stack EV ecosystem. Founded in 2021 by Xitij Kothi and Gaurav Srivastava, the company offers a battery subscription ownership plan powered by proprietary asset-underwriting algorithms. It already offers ownership solutions for Mahindra, Piaggio, Altigreen, Murugappa Group’s Montra Electric, Euler Motors and OSM vehicles. The two-year-old company was in the pre-revenue stage until FY23 and posted an income of Rs 68 lakh with a loss of Rs 3 crore during the last fiscal year. In the electric vehicle financing space, Vidyut competes with Revfin, Finayo, Mufin Green Finance, OTO, evfin, and Hero FinCorp, among others. The Indian startup ecosystem has seen an uptick in funding for EV financing focused startups in the past couple of months. In December, Revfin raised $14 million in Series B round while Mufin and OTO raised $17 million and $10 million, respectively, earlier this month.

Captain Fresh, a fish and seafood tech startup, has raised $25 million as part of a continuing larger funding round. The extension of the series C round is joined by Nekkanti seafoods group and British International Investment (BII), a UK-based development finance institution and impact investor, and a few family offices. Proceeds will be used to fuel its distribution presence in the US and Europe, and enhance multi-origin vertically integrated seafood platform, among others, the company said in a press release. With this, Captain Fresh has raised a total of $45 million across multiple tranches in its Series C extended round with $20 million raised in September last year. Strategic Business Innovators (SBI) and Evolvence fund led the first tranche with participation from Tiger Global, Prosus, Accel and Matrix Partners India. The firm also raised $13 million in January this year and will close the extended Series C at $48 million. As per startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Captain Fresh was valued at around $480 million when it raised $13 million and is likely to close the ongoing round at $500 million. Five-year-old Captain Fresh’s product portfolio encompasses over 100 species of fish and seafood, sourced from over a dozen countries globally and catering to customers in more than 30 countries. Captain Fresh has offices in India, the US, Dubai, Paris, Oslo, Amsterdam and Madrid. The firm claims that it handles over 80,000 metric tonnes of seafood annually with India constituting 90% of this. Some percentage of demand also comes from Southeast Asia. Captain Fresh recently completed the acquisition of a 40-year-old, Paris-based, shrimp cooker and distributor, Senecrus, as part of its EU expansion strategy. As per TheKredible, Captain Fresh’s gross revenue surged nearly 4X to Rs 817 crore in the fiscal year ending March 2023 while its losses also shot up 2.6X to Rs 294 crore in the same period.

Quick service burger chain Good Flippin’ Burgers has raised Rs 30 crore (approximately $3.6 million) in an extended Series A round from its existing investor Tanglin Venture Partners. The board at Good Flippin’ Burgers has passed a special resolution to issue 34,366 Series A1 cumulative compulsory convertible preference shares at an issue price of Rs 8739.56 each to raise Rs 30 crore, its regulatory filing accessed from the RoC shows. With this, the company has secured $8.6 million to date including a $4 million Series A round led by Tanglin Venture Partners in June 2023. According to TheKredible estimate, the company has been valued at around Rs 400 crore or $48 million (post-money). This marked a 3X growth in the valuation when compared to its last funding. Founded by Viren D’silva, Sijo Mathew, and Sid Marchant, Good Flippin’ Burgers currently has 25 outlets across Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon, and Noida. The outlets offer delivery services directly through their website and online aggregators such as Zomato and Swiggy. Five-year-old Good Flippin’ Burgers reported strong growth in its scale during FY23 as its operating revenue spiked 3.58X to Rs 32.53. When it comes to the bottom line, the company posted Rs 3.91 crore loss in the fiscal year ending March 2023. It’s yet to disclose its FY24 numbers. The Mumbai-based startup competes with Burger Singh, Whataburger, and Biggies Burger. In September 2022, Biggies Burger secured Rs 5.5 crore in seed round led by Indian Angel Network. Burger Singh also bagged Rs 30 crore in a Series A round led by Negen Capital in July 2022.
