Started reading The Palace of Illusions, out of love for mythic fiction. Till now - I am captivated, given I have watched Mahabharat on TV many times with my grandparents, the feeling is like going to a concert and knowing the lyrics of all the songs. The experience is elevated just because I know the story and getting a women's perspective of the same story is refreshing. One thing that bugs me a lot is there are too many indications of the great war, clear hints of what is going to happen! It's as if the Mahabharat was already written, and all the characters are just playing their part. I couldn't relate/connect to it given the randomness of life in reality. After all, life is a garland of random coincidences! Will complete it and share any updated views, meanwhile would love to hear from you all about the book!
