Show case, as the name suggests, is for the enthusiastic people to pitch their ideas or give a glimpse of what they are intending to do. Yes, Medial did reward them, probably for the sake of encouragement or increasing the engagement to the platform,

The whole point of showcase feature is to show your idea/ startup that you’ve already built BUT without the monetary benefit this feature wouldn’t even exist nor would people participate. Founder can get their idea validated from Reddit, X etc

Of course, people can get that validation from anywhere. But the purpose of this platform, I believe, is bringing the founders/investors/startup enthusiasts to one place and if willing to, support and help each other. Show case is a great concept, but adding the reward can't add any extra benefit. If you post your idea on the show case and If I genuinely believe that your idea/business head the potential, I can start a dialogue with you and we can take it from there. That's the use case of show case. Giving 5k/10k/50k doesn't matter until and unless if someone is posting just ideas(curated from AI) only and only for the sake of winning the prize. And, I believe many are doing that
