Some ads are just… background noise. You pass by them without a second glance. And then there are ads like this one. I was walking past, minding my own business, when I spotted this Roff billboard. I stopped. I read it. And before I knew it, I said out loud — Damn, that’s clever. Why? Because it wasn’t just an ad. It was a tiny story told in a single glance, the man’s expression, the misplaced tile on his nose, the perfectly timed copy in Gujarati. It’s funny, relatable, and it lands instantly. If you’ve ever tried (and failed) to fix a tile or seen a sloppy job, you instantly get the joke. That’s what makes it powerful, it’s not trying to sell to “everyone,” it’s speaking directly to you. We see thousands of billboards in a lifetime. Only a handful make you pause, smile, and actually remember the brand the next day. Roff didn’t just put up an ad, they put up a conversation starter. And in the cluttered world of advertising, that’s how you win.

Hey, any idea how much it would cost to make an ad like this? I know it’s not the best, but considering it was made using just a basic prompt, I think it turned out pretty impressive.

When you think about advertising, what comes to mind? For me, it’s a mix of emotions—sometimes it’s that one ad that tells a great story, connects deeply, and stays with you. Other times, it’s just noise, fighting for attention in a world that’s alr
