imo while Bata's great at selling a lot of shoes to many people in India by focusing on good value, bigger brands like Nike and Adidas are playing a different game. They're usually after customers who want high-end sports gear or trendy lifestyle items. So, if a Nike or Adidas store closes in one spot, it might just mean they're changing where they sell, maybe focusing more online or in bigger cities. It's not about one company being better than the other, but about how different strategies work best for different kinds of markets.
