I love the app... it's clean, works smoothly, and honestly stands on its own. But I feel the ambassador/affiliate-style promotion gives it a shady feel. It looks like a shortcut for growth rather than focusing on the real value you're offering. Is this a strategic call from the investors? I'd love to see more focus on genuine community building and app promotion instead.

Its not shady, its an experiment which can eventually lead to referrals within the app if successful and this is done every app.
