Hello everyone, I'm seeking your opinions on whether students should dedicate a significant portion of their lives to trying to get into IITs or if they should focus on building their skillset during that time. I'm asking because I'm personally facing with this confusion .

Bruh you prepare for this exam at your 11th and 12th. What other skills you develop at that time. You don't need any skills except try prepare for the entrance exams. Try your best make levels of your preparation. 1. IIT 2. NIT 3. BITSAT 4. VIT 5. OTHER UNIV. See this are the levels of your preparation in these two years. After 1 and half year you will get to know what is your level. Try best to crack anyone and make it.

I will say Prepare your best for the entrance exam. But aside also give a little of 10% time to build the foundation of those skillset. Then if you get into IITs you will have a large connection and opportunities with a very strong foundation And if not, you still have those basics and foundation of the skills you want..

Requesting you to please upgrade your skill set and don't spoil life like me by preparing to these IIT bs.Its just rat race.By the time I realised what I love everything fell into doom. A humble request please don't fall into the trap.There are many things beyond IIT. Do what you love.(Wish someone said this when I was preparing for the rat race (for which iam not even interested in)

Instead of using social media as a "break" during ur prep,dedicate Tyme to building skillset for yourself ,I didn't knew much about skillset and all these things back then ,u are lucky to know these.

Idk whether I'm right or wrong but getting into a prestigious college matters it gives you access to like minded individuals and project opportunities the skillset portion is also important but if getting into good college is merit based than prepare for that merit first.
