YouTube is reportedly embedding advertisements directly into video streams to combat third-party ad blockers. This new approach could make it harder for ad blocking browser extensions to filter out ads. Users have previously complained about videos skipping to the end when ad blockers are activated on YouTube. SponsorBlock, an extension that allows users to skip sponsored segments, expressed concern that the integration of ads into video streams may disrupt its functionality. YouTube has stated that ad-blocking software violates its terms of service and that users may experience issues when viewing videos if they employ such apps.
