Rural vehicle marketplace Tractor Junction has managed to grow its scale by nearly three-fold during the last fiscal year (FY23). The byproduct of the fast-paced growth, however, is the five-year-old company slipping into red during the said period. Tractor Junction’s revenue from operations grew 196.2% to Rs 26.84 crore during the fiscal year ending March 2023 as compared to Rs 9.06 crore in FY22, as per the company’s consolidated annual financial statement with the Registrar of Companies. Launched by Shivani Gupta and Rajat Kumar, Tractor Junction is a rural vehicle marketplace that helps buy, sell, finance, and insure new and used tractors, farm equipment, and rural commercial vehicles. It also provides necessary information and vetted reviews on farm machinery, enabling users to compare shortlisted options, and bringing transparency in pricing. The company made 55% of its revenue from sale of tractors while the remaining came from the sale of services. The sales of services segment mainly deals in the business of providing advertising services to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) through generation of leads from their website and selling those leads to OEM’s. Tractor Junction also cornered Rs 1.75 crore via interest and gains on financial assets (non-operating revenue). Including this, the company’s total income stood at Rs 28.6 crore in FY23. Further, the Alwar-based company spent most on the cost of materials accounting for 42% of the total expenditure. This cost shot up over 20X to Rs 14.54 crore in FY23 from Rs 71 lakh in FY22. Employee benefit cost for the company jumped over 2X to Rs 9.35 crore during the last fiscal year. Moreover, advertising & publicity expenses also increased 56.1% to Rs 3.81 crore during FY23 from Rs 2.44 crore in FY22. Overall, the company’s total expenditure ballooned more than four-fold to Rs 34.67 crore in FY23 from Rs 8.28 crore in FY22. Tractor Junction recorded Rs 7.46 crore losses in FY23 against Rs 67 lakh profit in FY22. The impact of cash burn can also be seen in operating cash outflows which climbed to around Rs 17 crore during the last fiscal year. Online fashion and beauty commerce platform Nykaa showcased a 24.1% growth in scale during the fiscal year ending March 2024. The profit after tax (PAT) for the Falguni Nayar-led firm also rose 90.5% to Rs 40 crore in the same period. Nykaa’s revenue from operations grew 24.1% to Rs 6,386 crore in FY24 from Rs 5,144 crore in FY23, its consolidated financial statements disclosed in the stock exchange filing show. Nykaa On a sequential basis, the firm posted a 6.8% decrease in revenue to Rs 1,668 crore in Q4 FY24 from Rs 1,789 crore in Q3 FY24. The sale of beauty, personal care, fashion and other products and services through various platforms was the sole source of revenue for Nykaa. The firm has 14 subsidiaries and one associate named Earth Rhythm. It also made Rs 30 crore from interest and gain on the financial assets, tallying the total income to Rs 6,416 crore in FY24. For the fashion and beauty commerce platform, the cost of procurement formed 57.4% of the overall expenditure. In line with the scale, this cost grew 27.3% to Rs 3,647 crore in FY24. Its employee benefits, finance, depreciation, legal, advertising cum promotional, conveyance, and other overheads took the overall expenditure up by 23.6% to Rs 6,346 crore in FY24. The 24% scale and prudent cost mechanism helped Nykaa post a 90.5% increase in profit to Rs 40 crore in FY24 from Rs 21 crore in FY23. Its ROCE and EBITDA margins stood at 5% and 1.6%, respectively. On a unit level, Nykaa spent Rs 0.99 to earn a rupee in FY24. Nykaa Just ahead of quarterly and FY24 financial results, Nykaa announced fresh employee stock option (ESOP) options for its employees under the new ESOP scheme. As per Fintrackr’s estimates, the newly added ESOP options were worth around Rs 7 crore. Nykaa is currently trading at Rs 179.2 as of (22nd May at 5.08 pm) with a market cap of Rs 51,171 crore.

Foodtech and quick commerce platform Zomato on Monday released its financial results for the fourth quarter of the ongoing fiscal year (Q4 FY24). With the steady expansion, the company has witnessed around 27% increase in its profit along with marginal growth in revenue. Zomato’s revenue from operations grew 8.3% to Rs 3,562 crore in Q4 FY24 in contrast to Rs 3,288 crore in Q3 FY24, as per the firm’s consolidated financial results sourced from the National Stock Exchange. With this, Zomato’s overall revenue for the fiscal year ending March 2024 jumped 71% to Rs 12,114 crore from Rs 7,079 in FY23. Zomato operates several business units including a food marketplace, Hyperpure and quick commerce platform BlinkIt. Income from food and delivery biz accounted for 48.8% in Q4 FY24 which grew 2.1% to Rs 1,739 in Q4 FY24 from Rs Rs 1,704 crore in Q3 FY24. The collections from Hyperpure supplies (B2B) and quick commerce vertical (Blinkit) grew 10.7% and 19.4% to Rs 951 crore and Rs 769 crore, respectively. Earning from “Going-out” and other non-operating income took Zomato Group’s overall revenue to Rs 3,797 crore in Q4 FY24. The cost for delivery and related charges formed 30.7% of the overall expenditure which increased 4.7% to Rs 1,118 crore in Q4 FY24. Its cost of procurement, employee benefits, advertising, and marketing pushed its overall expenditure to Rs 3,636 in Q4FY24 from Rs 3,382 in Q3FY24. The optimum cost mechanism and increased scale helped Zomato to record a 26.8% hike in its profits to Rs 175 in Q4 FY24 from Rs 138 crore in Q3 FY24. On a unit level, the Gurugram-based company spent Rs 1.02 to earn a rupee in Q4 FY24.

One97 Communication Private Limited, the parent company of Paytm, scaled 25% year-on-year during the fiscal year ending March 2024. The Noida-based firm, however, managed to maintain EBITDA profitability before ESOP throughout the last fiscal year (FY24). Paytm’s revenue from operations grew 25% to Rs 9,978 crore in FY24 from Rs 7,990 crore in FY23, its annual financial statements disclosed through the National Stock Exchange show. Income from payment services accounted for 62.48% of the total operating revenue, which grew 25% to Rs 6,235 crore in FY24. Meanwhile, income from financial services grew by 30% to Rs 2,004 crore. The remainder income came from marketing and other sources. Paytm also made Rs 547 crore from non-operating activities mainly from interest and gain on financial assets, tallying the total income to Rs 10,525 crore in the last fiscal year (FY24). To the tune of other technology firms, its employee benefits accounted for 39.4% of the overall expenditure. This cost surged 21.5% to Rs 4,589 crore in FY24 from Rs 3,778 crore in FY23. This includes Rs 1,466 crore as share-based payment aka ESOPs cost. Its payment processing charges grew 10.9% to Rs 3,280 crore in FY2. Paytm’s software/tech, marketing cum promotional, legal, and other overheads drove its total expenditure up by 15% to Rs 11,645 crore in FY24 from Rs 10,130 crore in FY23. Note: Paytm has booked Rs 1,465 crore of ESOPs and wrote off Rs 227 crore worth of investments which was made to its associate firm Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) after RBI’s action. The decent growth and controlled expenditure helped Paytm to reduce its net losses by 20% to Rs 1,422 crore in FY24. Meanwhile, Paytm maintained its EBITDA profitability before ESOP throughout the year which stood at Rs 559 crore in FY24.

MapMyIndia posts Rs 140 Cr revenue in Q4 FY25, profit grows 29% CE Info Systems, the parent company of MapMyIndia, has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of FY25. The company reported a year-on-year revenue growth of over 34% compared to Q4 FY24. MapMyIndia’s revenue from operations increased to Rs 143 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 107 crore in Q4 FY24. Meanwhile, for the full fiscal year, revenue increased by 22% to Rs 463 crore in FY25 from Rs 379 crore in FY24, according to its consolidated quarterly report. Income from digital map data, GPS navigation, location-based services, and IoT was the primary source of revenue for MapMyIndia, accounting for 88% of the total collection. This revenue source increased by 51% to Rs 127 crore in Q4 FY25. However, income from the sale of its devices generated Rs 16.5 crore in revenue. The cost of IoT devices, employee benefits, and outsourced technical services were the major cost elements, pushing the total cost of the firm to Rs 90 crore in Q4 FY25, up from Rs 72 crore in Q4 FY24. On a fiscal basis, the total cost increased to Rs 306 crore in FY25. With the increase in scale, MapMyIndia recorded a 29% increase in its profit to Rs 49 crore during Q4 FY25, compared to Rs 38 crore in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year. Meanwhile, annual profit increased by 10% to Rs 148 crore in FY25, up from Rs 134 crore in FY24. At the end of the day on 9th May 2025, MapMyIndia closed at Rs 1,845 per share, with a market capitalization of Rs 10,040 crore ($1.17 billion).

Blackbuck has released its financial report for the first quarter of the ongoing financial year ending March 2026. The Bengaluru-based company reported a 57% year-on-year growth in scale in Q1 FY26 and posted a profit of Rs 34 crore in the quarter. Blackbuck's revenue from operations grew to Rs 144 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 92 crore in Q1 FY25, its financial statements sourced from the National Stock Exchange show. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, Blackbuck’s operating revenue increased 18% to Rs 144 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 122 crore in Q4 FY25. Revenue from its truck operator services was the primary source of revenue, accounting for 98% of total operating revenue. The company also made Rs 16 crore from interest income which took its overall revenue to Rs 160 crore in Q1 FY26, compared to Rs 98 crore in Q1 FY25. Looking at the expenses, the employee benefit cost accounted for 32% of the overall expenditure which fell 5% year-on-year to Rs 37 crore in Q1 FY26 from Rs 39 crore in Q1 FY25. Deprecation and other operating expenses were key overheads that drove total expenditure to Rs 114 crore in Q1 FY26, compared to Rs 92 crore in the same quarter last year. Blackbuck’s net profit increased 17% to Rs 34 crore in Q1 FY26, as compared to Rs 29 crore in Q1 FY25. Blackbuck debuted on the stock exchange at Rs 208.90 and is now trading at Rs 481.85 (at 15:26 PM), bringing its total market capitalization to Rs 8,670 crore ($1 billion).

Traya recorded over threefold year-on-year growth, with its revenue crossing Rs 230 crore during the previous fiscal year ending March 2024. Moreover, with this pace, the Mumbai-based company became profitable in the same period. Traya’s revenue from operations surged 3.8X to Rs 236 crore in FY24 from Rs 61 crore in FY23, its annual financial statements sourced from the Registrar of Companies show. Established in 2019, Traya focuses on addressing hair loss at its core by identifying the underlying causes. It provides personalized hair solutions and guidance from a team of experienced hair coaches and physicians. Income from product sales accounted for 99.36% of Traya's total operating revenue, which rose to Rs 234.5 crore in FY24, up from Rs 61 crore in FY23. The rest income came from courier services and doctor consultation fees. Moving on to the expense part, marketing and sales accounted for 43% of the overall expenditure. This cost grew twofold to Rs 98 crore in FY24 from Rs 51 crore in FY23. To the tune of scale, the cost of procurement of materials surged 3.6X to Rs 54 crore in FY24. Traya’s employee benefits also saw a 4X surge to Rs 36 crore in FY23. Other overheads including freight, legal, and travelling increased the overall cost by 154% to Rs 229 crore in FY23 from Rs 90 crore in FY23. The 3.8X growth in scale enabled Traya to achieve a notable profit of Rs 9 crore in FY24, a stark contrast to the Rs 28 crore loss in FY23. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin improved to 8.7% and 5.04%, respectively. On a unit basis, the company spent Rs 0.97 to earn a rupee in FY24. Traya's total current assets recorded at Rs 159 crore, with a cash balance of Rs 85 crore at the end of the previous fiscal year. According to startup-data intelligence platform TheKredible, Traya has raised approximately Rs 96 crore to date, including Rs 75 crore in funding from Xponentia Capital in April this year. The company counts notable investors such as Fireside Ventures, Kae Capital, Xponentia Capital, and Whiteboard Capital.
