Electric mobility company Ola Electric has filed its first-ever quarterly result after becoming a public entity early this month. The company managed to improve its topline by 2.9% Q-o-Q while the losses for the SoftBank-backed firm declined by 16.6% in the same period. Ola Electric’s revenue from operations increased to Rs 1,644 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 1,598 crore in Q4 FY24, its unaudited consolidated financial statements sourced from the National Stock Exchange show. Income from the sale of electric scooters was the sole source of revenue for Ola Electric while the income from the sale of batteries contributed only a small portion in the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal year. For the EV scooter manufacturer, the cost of procurement of materials accounted for 72.5% of the total cost which stood at Rs 1,341 crore in Q1 FY24. Employee benefits, advertising, and technical support were some other cost centers, taking the total burn to Rs 1849 crore in Q1 FY25. The marginal increase in sales and cost-effective measures helped Ola Electric to control its losses by 16.6% to Rs 347 crore in Q1 FY25 as compared to Rs 416 crore in the last quarter of FY24. As per Vahan data, Ola Electric has continued to maintain its supremacy in electric two-wheeler space as it sold 41,597 units in July with a market share of 39%. TVS came in second place followed by Bajaj Auto, Ather Energy and Hero MotoCorp. In FY24, Ola Electric sold 3,29,618 scooters in FY24 — almost 2X as compared to FY23. This also reflected in the company’s scale which grew nearly two-fold to Rs 5,010 crore in FY24 from Rs 2,631 crore in FY23. Ola Electric went public this month and raised Rs 5,500 crore fresh issue and an offer for sale of up to 84,941,997 shares amounting to Rs 646 crore. The firm is currently trading at Rs 111 (as on 04.58 PM) with a total market capitalization of Rs 48,955 crore (approximately $5.9 billion)

Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ola Electric recorded a 26% decline in its operating revenue to Rs 1, 214 crore in Q2 FY25 when compared to Rs 1,644 crore in Q1 FY25. However, the firm registered 39% year-on-year increase in revenue from Rs 873 crore in Q2 FY24. In a shareholders letter, the company attributed the year-on-year growth to a 73.6% rise in deliveries, which reached 98,619 units during Q2 FY25. Revenue from its automotive segment stood at Rs 1,215 crore, while the cell segment contributed Rs 1 crore. The firm also registered Rs 100 crore from other income which brought its total income to Rs 1,314 crore in Q2 FY25. Cost of materials was the largest burn for the Bhavish Aggarwal-led firm which jumped 46.6% to Rs 1,072 crore from Rs 731 crore in Q2 FY24. On a quarterly basis, the cost declined by 18% from Rs 1,311 crore in Q1 FY25. During Q2 FY25, employee benefits expenses stood at Rs 139 crore while other expenses, including operational and administrative costs, contributed Rs 465 crore. The firm’s total expenses for Q2 FY25 stood at Rs 1,593 crore, a 21.8% surge from Rs 1,308 crore in Q2 FY24. When compared on a sequential basis, the total expenses decreased by 13.8% from Rs 1,849 crore in Q1 FY25. Overall, the company posted a net loss of Rs 495 crore, a 42.65% increase from Rs 347 crore in the previous quarter (Q1 FY25). The losses were down by 5.5% year-on-year from Rs 524 crore in Q2 FY24. Among the venture funded companies, Ola Electric’s closest competitor Ather posted Rs 339 crore of revenue with a net loss of Rs 183 crore in Q1 FY25. Its Q2 results are yet to be announced. The Tarun Mehta-led firm also filed its draft IPO papers in September. After consecutive declines in market share, Ola Electric regained traction in October, with sales increasing during the festive period. The company sold 41,605 units in October, which helped its market share climb to 30% in the last month from 27% in September. However, this figure remains lower than its earlier market shares, which were 32% in August, 39% in July, and 49% in June. At the closure of stock exchange on November 8, Ola Electric’s shares were trading at Rs 72.72, nearly 54% below its peak of Rs 157.53 in mid-August.

Income from the sale of electric scooters was the sole source of revenue for Ola Electric while the collection from the sale of batteries contributed only a small portion in the last quarter of the previous fiscal year. For the EV scooter maker, material procurement made up 33% of the total costs at Rs 527 crore in Q4 FY25. Other major expenses included employee benefits, advertising, and technical support, pushing the total quarterly burn to Rs 1,598 crore. For the full fiscal year ending March 2025, total expenses rose to Rs 7,185 crore. A higher decline in sales caused Ola Electric's losses to rise by 106% in Q4 FY25, reaching Rs 862 crore compared to Rs 418 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year (Q4 FY24). For FY25, the firm’s losses stood at Rs 2,276 crore in FY25, up from Rs 1,584 crore in FY24. Recently, Ola Electric Mobility has approved a plan to raise up to Rs 1,700 crore through debt instruments. The Bhavish Aggarwal-led company secured the second position in the electric two-wheeler segment in April, with TVS Motor emerging as the market leader. For the first time, Ather Energy has surpassed Ola Electric in quarterly revenue. In Q4 FY25, Ather reported an operating revenue of Rs 676 crore, ahead of Ola Electric’s Rs 611 crore. At the close of today's trading session, Ola Electric's stock was priced at Rs 53.20, giving the company a market capitalization of Rs 23,465 crore.

The Bengaluru-based company’s market share dropped to 27% in September, down from 32% in August and 39% in the previous month. Ola Electric achieved its highest market share during Q1 FY25 (June quarter), reaching a milestone of 49%. As per Vahan data, Ola Electric sold 23,965 units in September compared to 26,928 units in August and 40, 814 units in July. The Bhavish Aggarwal-led firm also hit an 11-month low of 23,965 units. Baja Auto, TVS Motors, Ather Energy and Hero MotoCorp were the next on the list with 21.27%, 20.26%, 14% and 5% market shares, respectively. This drop in market share follows a report from Goldman Sachs, which projected that Ola Electric is expected to reach EBITDA breakeven by the fiscal year ending March 2027. The decline in sales can be attributed to several factors, including customer complaints, malfunctioning hardware, and software glitches, among others. According to a recent report, Ola Electric received approximately 80,000 customer complaints per month. For the June quarter (Q1FY25), Ola Electric’s revenue from operations grew only 2.8% to Rs 1,644 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 1,598 crore in Q4 FY24. The company, however, managed to control its losses by 16.6% to Rs 347 crore in Q1 FY25. During the last fiscal year (FY24), it reported Rs 5,010 crore revenue and Rs 1,584 core loss. Ola Electric, which was listed on the stock exchange in early August, saw its share price drop below Rs 100 on Monday for the first time since its listing. Currently, its shares are trading at around Rs 102 each. The initial public offering (IPO) was priced at Rs 76 per share.

Ola Electric, the Bengaluru-based electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, is projected to reach EBITDA breakeven by the fiscal year ending March 2027, according to a recent report by Goldman Sachs. The company is expected to see its revenue grow at 2.5 times the current rate, with a fivefold increase in vehicle volume over the next three years. “We expect FY24 to FY30E revenue growth of +40% CAGR (vs FY22 to FY24 of +240%), implying FCF breakeven (ex-subsidies) in FY30E. We expect OLAE to achieve 11.9% / 27% EBITDA margin / ROIC by FY30E vs -19.7% / -32.0% pc in FY24,” said the Goldman Sachs report. Despite the promising projection, Ola Electric’s revenue growth in FY24 and FY21 Q1 has been modest. Its revenue from operations grew only 2.8% to Rs 1,644 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 1,598 crore in Q4 FY24. The company, however, managed to control its losses by 16.6% to Rs 347 crore in Q1 FY25. During the last fiscal year (FY24), it reported Rs 5,010 crore revenue and Rs 1,584 core loss. Goldman Sachs has issued a “buy” rating for Ola Electric, with a 12-month target price of Rs 160 per share, suggesting a potential 50% upside. Currently, Ola Electric shares are trading at Rs 113 per share. The brokerage firm expects Ola Electric’s revenue to increase by over 40% from FY24 to FY27. In contrast, TVS Motor, Bajaj Auto, and Hero MotoCorp are projected to grow by 16%, 19%, and 10%, respectively. As per the report, Ola Electric’s products are approximately 18% cheaper on a running cost basis when compared to its EV peers. Ola Electric’s market share rose from 21% in FY23 to 35% in FY24, and further to 49% in Q1 FY25, according to Jefferies. However, the share dropped to 39% in July and 32% in August. In August, TVS and Bajaj each held a 19% market share, while Ather Energy had a 12% share. The competition in the EV sector is expected to intensify as Ola Electric prepares to launch its motorcycle and electric three-wheeler (e-rickshaw) in the coming months. Meanwhile, Ather Energy, which is also gearing up for a public listing, has announced plans to begin manufacturing motorcycles as well.

CE Info Systems, the parent company of MapMyIndia, has released its financial results for the first quarter of FY25. The firm reported a 5.1% decrease in its quarter-on-quarter revenue when compared to Q4 FY24. MapmyIndia’s revenue from operations declined by 5.1% to Rs 101.5 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 107 crore in Q4 FY24. However, its income increased by 13.5% when compared to the first quarter of FY24, its unaudited consolidated quarterly report sourced from NSE shows. Income from digital map data, GPS navigation, location based services and IoT were the primary source of revenue for MapMyIndia in Q1 FY25. The cost of IoT devices, employee benefit and technical services (outsourced) were the major cost elements, which pushed total cost of the firm to Rs 63.9 crore in Q1 FY25 against Rs 72 crore in Q4 FY24. With the depletion in scale, MapmyIndia recorded a 6.25% decrease in its profit to Rs 35.86 crore during Q1 FY25 as compared to Rs 38.25 crore in the last quarter of previous fiscal year (Q4 FY24). The Delhi-based firm estimated its revenue would touch Rs 1,00 crore in FY 27-28. MapMyIndia is currently trading at Rs 2,309 per shares (as of 04.24PM) with a market capitalization of Rs 12,485 crore ($1.5 billion) MapMyIndia recently sent legal notice to Ola Electric for copying its data as the EV scooter firm launched its own mapping service. According to the data intelligence platform TheKredible, Hero MotoCorp remains the largest external stakeholder with 38.11% after this round, followed by Caladium Investment which holds 16.3%. Ola Electric’s founder Bhavish Aggarwal has pledged his Ola Electric shares to raise debt funding (via issuing debentures) for its artificial intelligence startup Krutrim SI Designs. Bhavish Aggarwal, the promoter, entered into an agreement with Axis Trustee and Krutrim Data Center Private Limited on November 23. The agreement aims to provide assurance regarding certain debentures issued by Krutrim Design, Ola Electric’s internal document accessed by Entrackr show. As per the document, Bhavish Aggarwal held 132.39 crore shares of Ola Electric, accounting for 30.02% of the company. He pledged 4.83 crore shares, representing 1.10% of Ola Electric's equity or 3.65% of his total shareholding, as an encumbrance. Entrackr has reached out to Ola Electric for more details. Artificial intelligence startup Krutrim SI Designs has raised around $75 million to date and entered into a coveted unicorn club this year. Ola Electric is currently trading at Rs 91.79 with a total market capitalization of 40,487 crore (approximately $4.82 billion). In Q2, Ola Electric recorded a 26% decline in its operating revenue to Rs 1, 214 crore when compared to Rs 1,644 crore in Q1 FY25.
