Nvidia AI developer conference kicks off with new chips in focus

Nvidia's annual developer conference, GTC 2024, is set to showcase new chip and software announcements by CEO Jensen Huang. As the dominant seller of AI tools, Nvidia's latest offerings will determine its position in the market. Despite capturing an 80% share in the data center AI chip market last year, Nvidia's market share is expected to decline as rivals like Intel and Advanced Micro Devices release new products. Huang is anticipated to introduce the next generation AI processor, B100, along with several software-related products. This year's GTC will be held in-person, with roughly 16,000 attendees, and Huang's keynote address will take place at a Silicon Valley hockey arena, the largest venue for such an event.
