The board at Agrostar has passed a special resolution to issue 1,45,397 compulsory convertible preference shares at an issue price of Rs 3,965 each to raise Rs 57.65 crore, its regulatory filing accessed from the Registrar of Companies shows. Existing investors Accel India, Evolvence, Chiratae Ventures, Hero Enterprises, Bertelsmann, and Aavishkaar India participated during the round. According to Entrackr’s estimates, the company has been valued at around $293 million post-allotment. Agrostar operates as a comprehensive platform catering to farmers, offering both online and offline channels for farm advisory solutions and agricultural inputs. Agrostar generates revenue from the sale of agri inputs. Agrostar has raised over $110 million to date, including $70 million Series D led by Schroders. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, before this round, Chiratae Ventures was the largest external stakeholder, followed by Aavishkaar Capital, Accel, and Bertelsmann. The company last filed its financial statements in FY22, where it recorded 88.4% year-on-year growth to Rs 260 with the loss of Rs 142 crore in the same period. The Handpickd’s board passed a resolution to approve the issue of 10,547 Series Seed B CCPS at an issue price of Rs 20,566 to raise Rs 21.7 crore or around $2.5 million, according to recent filings accessed from March 2025 from the Registrar of Companies (RoC) shows. Nitin Gupta, Partner at GG Enterprises and Genesia Ventures, led the round with an investment of Rs 6.48 crore and Rs 6 crore, respectively, followed by existing investor BEENEXT, which is contributing Rs 2.16 crore. Sunrise Sunset Family Office will invest Rs 2 crore, while the remaining amount will be covered by Infinyte Club Angel Fund and Eximius Ventures, Stargazer Ventures and Ankit Agarwal. As per filings, the company has already received around Rs 10.16 crore, with the remaining amount expected to follow shortly. The Blume Venture-backed company will be valued at around Rs 300 crore or $35 million, according to Entrackr’s estimates. Founded by Anant Goel along with Nitin Gupta and Sahil Madan, Handpickd operates on a B2B2C model, delivering fresh fruits and vegetables through a tech-enabled supply chain. The company sources produce directly from local farmers and vendors, leveraging a network of micro-entrepreneurs for efficient last-mile delivery. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Handpickd has raised around $9 million from investors including BEENEXT, Blume Ventures, Kunal Bahl, Rohit Kumar Bansal. The company recorded over 2.3X year-on-year growth in operating revenue, rising to Rs 17.5 crore in FY24 from Rs 7.4 crore in FY23. Its losses remained flat at Rs 2.1 crore during the fiscal year ending March 2024. Handpickd competes with other farm-to-fork funded startups including Otipy ($49 million), Fraazo ($61 million), Deep Rooted ($20 million) which shut their operations. Handpickd also competes with Kareena Kapoor-backed startup Pluckk which is set to raise $10 million.

Homegrown D2C ayurvedic nutrition brand Kapiva has raised Rs 83.5 crore (approximately $10 million) led by OrbiMed Asia with the participation of 3One4 Capital and Vertex Ventures. The board at Kapiva has passed a special resolution to issue 5,62,631 compulsory convertible preference shares to raise the aforementioned sum, its regulatory filing sourced from the Registrar of Companies shows. OrbiMed Asia led the round with Rs 52.2 crore, while 3One4 Capital and Vertex Ventures participated with Rs 11.96 crore and Rs 19.33 crore, respectively. The fresh funding appears to be part of Kapiva’s Series C round, in which the firm is aiming to raise a total of Rs 250 crore. Entrackr exclusively reported about Kapiva’s Series C round in Nov 2022. With the fresh tranche, the firm has raised Rs 132 crore in the ongoing round. It had already raised Rs 48.75 crore ($6 million) in Series C from OrbiMed and other existing investors back in October 2022. Kapiva has also increased its ESOP size by adding 1,415,00 new employee stock, bringing the total ESOP pool to 4,47,741, separate filing shows. As per the Entrackr estimates, its ESOP pool size is now worth Rs 66 crore. Kapiva will use these funds for the expansion and development of the company. Kaviva has raised over $30 million to date and has notable investors including Jetty Ventures, Fireside, OrbiMed, 3One4Capital, and others. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, the company has been valued at around $80 million post-allotment. Founded in 2015, Kapiva is an ayurvedic nutrition brand that offers natural and organic health and skincare products for hair fall, weight loss, digestion, diabetes in the form of juices, tea, oils, shakes et al. During the fiscal year ended March 2023, Kaviva registered 87% year-on-year growth to Rs 116.48 crore with a loss standing at Rs 64.5 crore in the same period. Kapiva is yet to file its annual results for FY24. While the D2C ayurveda space is crowded with plenty of organized brands, Upakarma Ayurveda, and Dr. Vaidya’s, Varalife, among others are Kapiva’s notable competitors.

D2C men’s lifestyle brand DaMENSCH has raised Rs 21.62 crore (approximately $2.5 million) in its extended Series B round from existing investors. The fresh investment, which came after a gap of two years, appears to be a bridge round for the Bengaluru-based company. The board at DaMENSCH has passed a special resolution to issue 1,017 shares at an issue price of Rs 2,12,515 each to raise Rs 21.6 crore, its regulatory filing accessed from the Registrar of Companies shows. Existing investors including Matrix Partners, Saama Capital, Whiteboard Capital, and A91 Emerging Fund also participated during the round. The bridge round has flown in at a flat valuation. As per TheKredible estimates, it has been valued at around $70-75 million (post-money). DaMENSCH has raised over $25 million to date including its $16.6 million Series B round led by A91 Partners in February 2022. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, A91 Partners is the largest external stakeholder followed by Matrix and Saama Capital. Started in 2018 by Anurag Saboo and Gaurav Pushkar, DaMENSCH offers a range of innerwear and casual wear. It leverages its own website and marketplaces such as Amazon, Flipkart, and Myntra for distribution. While the company is yet to file its financial statements for FY24, DaMENSCH’s revenue grew 22.7% year-on-year to Rs 77.57 crore in FY23. Unlike its scale, the firm’s losses surged twofold to Rs 62.34 crore in the fiscal year ending March 2023. DaMENSCH directly competes with Bummer which secured Rs 9.25 crore from Gruhas Collective Consumer Fund in March. XYXX seems to be the most funded player in the space as it raised over $36 million to date including $13.5 million from Amazon Sambhav Fund in May last year.

Online gold loan platform Rupeek has raised Rs 50 crore from 360 One Large Value Fund (formerly IIFL Wealth Management). Significantly, the company’s valuation nosedived by 60% in the new round. The board at Rupeek has passed a board resolution to issue 1,307 compulsory convertible preference shares at an issue price of Rs 3,82,492 each to raise Rs 50 crore, its regulatory filing shows. The company will use these funds for growth, expansion, and general corporate activities, as the company’s board decides. During FY24, the company also raised around Rs 43 crore from existing investors such as Peak XV, Bertelsmann, Accel India, and GGV Investments, the filing further shows. According to Fintrackr‘s estimates, the company has been valued at around Rs 2,050 crore or $250 million post-allotment. This implies that the company raised new money at a 60% haircut in its valuation as compared to Rupeek’s peak valuation of $634 million in January 2022. Recently, an ET report said that Rupeek was in talks to raise funds from Ranjan Pai’ investment office Claypond Capital and Axis Bank at a valuation of $200-250 million. Rupeek provides gold loan services and claims to streamline the entire processing from underwriting to disbursal in 30 minutes. The Binny Bansal-backed company has raised around $150 million to date. As per startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, PeakXV is the largest external stakeholder followed by Accel and Bertelsmann. Its new investor 360 One Large Value Fund holds 2.44% (post-allotment). The Bengaluru-based company is yet to report FY24 numbers but its revenue from operations declined 27.6% to Rs 89 crore in FY23 while the losses stood at Rs 281 crore in the fiscal year ending March 2023. The Sumit Maniyar-led firm directly competes with Oro Money, Ruptok, Yellow Metal, and to some extent with PayU-backed Indiagold. There should be no issues on the valuation haircut for Rupeek, considering that its peak valuation was not just at the peak of the funding cycle, but subsequent performance has also failed to justify those numbers. There are far too many founders who get hung up on a specific valuation number, before it is too late to raise fresh funding. Rupeek has clearly focused on the next steps, rather than dwell on the past too much. That it found backers at the new valuation figure also speaks about the credibility the founders retain, despite the tough times in the recent past.
