Exclusive: Kapiva raises $10 Mn from existing investors

Homegrown D2C ayurvedic nutrition brand Kapiva has raised Rs 83.5 crore (approximately $10 million) led by OrbiMed Asia with the participation of 3One4 Capital and Vertex Ventures. The board at Kapiva has passed a special resolution to issue 5,62,631 compulsory convertible preference shares to raise the aforementioned sum, its regulatory filing sourced from the Registrar of Companies shows. OrbiMed Asia led the round with Rs 52.2 crore, while 3One4 Capital and Vertex Ventures participated with Rs 11.96 crore and Rs 19.33 crore, respectively. The fresh funding appears to be part of Kapiva’s Series C round, in which the firm is aiming to raise a total of Rs 250 crore. Entrackr exclusively reported about Kapiva’s Series C round in Nov 2022. With the fresh tranche, the firm has raised Rs 132 crore in the ongoing round. It had already raised Rs 48.75 crore ($6 million) in Series C from OrbiMed and other existing investors back in October 2022. Kapiva has also increased its ESOP size by adding 1,415,00 new employee stock, bringing the total ESOP pool to 4,47,741, separate filing shows. As per the Entrackr estimates, its ESOP pool size is now worth Rs 66 crore. Kapiva will use these funds for the expansion and development of the company. Kaviva has raised over $30 million to date and has notable investors including Jetty Ventures, Fireside, OrbiMed, 3One4Capital, and others. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, the company has been valued at around $80 million post-allotment. Founded in 2015, Kapiva is an ayurvedic nutrition brand that offers natural and organic health and skincare products for hair fall, weight loss, digestion, diabetes in the form of juices, tea, oils, shakes et al. During the fiscal year ended March 2023, Kaviva registered 87% year-on-year growth to Rs 116.48 crore with a loss standing at Rs 64.5 crore in the same period. Kapiva is yet to file its annual results for FY24. While the D2C ayurveda space is crowded with plenty of organized brands, Upakarma Ayurveda, and Dr. Vaidya’s, Varalife, among others are Kapiva’s notable competitors.

Exclusive: Student housing startup Your-Space raises $8.2 Mn debt Student housing startup Your-Space has raised Rs 70 crore (approximately $8.2 million) in debt led by existing investor Shantanu Rastogi, Managing Director of General Atlantic. The round also includes participation from other existing investors, including Castle Investments and Ajax Capital. The board at Your-Space has passed a special resolution to issue 10,14,493 compulsory convertible debentures (CCDs) at an issue price of Rs 690 each to raise Rs 70 crore, according to its January regulatory filing accessed from the RoC. Shantanu Rastogi led the round with an investment of Rs 25 crore, followed by new investor Ashish Kacholia, who will contribute Rs 10 crore. Other notable investments include Rs 7.5 crore each from Satyadharma Investments and Castle Investments, while Ajay Gupta’s family office, Ajax Capital, and Holy Basil Consultancy will invest Rs 5 crore each. The company has already received approximately Rs 51 crore out of Rs 70 crore while the rest of the amount will follow soon. The fresh proceeds will be used for working capital requirements, creditor payments, and other general business operations, the filings added. Notably, the conversion of debentures into equity shares will be done at the valuation of Rs 185 crore against the above-mentioned sum at a later date, the filings further added. Your-Space is a student housing company offering affordable PGs, hostels, and co-living spaces for both girls and boys. With over 60 smart spaces, the company integrates tech-enabled safety features, including facial recognition, biometrics, and digital locks. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, the company has raised around $17.6 million in funding including both debt and equity including a $10 million Series A round raised in January 2022 led by Shantanu Rastogi. The Delhi-based company reported over 20% year-on-year growth in operating revenue to Rs 142.7 crore in FY24, compared to Rs 117.2 crore in FY23. The Delhi-based company also posted a loss of Rs 30.7 crore during the same period.

Ripplr raises $45 Mn from SBI and existing investors Distribution and supply chain platform Ripplr has raised $45 million in its Series C round from State Bank of India (SBI) and existing investors. Its existing backers include 3one4 Capital, Zephyr Peacock, and Sojitz Corporation. A recent Moneycontrol report said that about $30 to 32 million will come in as primary capital, while roughly $10 million will be raised through a secondary component. Before this, the company raised over $56 million across equity and debt. Ripplr, founded by Abhishek Nehru and Santosh Dabke, runs a tech-first and full-stack distribution network that helps brands digitize and manage their operations from demand to delivery. The platform brings together logistics, on ground execution, inventory intelligence and retailer relationships into one unified layer. The company claims it now reaches about 100,000 retailers and processes hundreds of thousands of orders each month. Ripplr has built this scale by delivering reliable execution in a challenging distribution landscape that demands strong operations and a robust tech backbone. The platform manages supply chains for major consumer companies such as Unilever, Nestle, Tata, Godrej, Nivea and Dabur. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Ripplr’s gross revenue grew by 13% to Rs 1,164 crore in FY25 from Rs 1,028 crore in FY24. The firm posted a loss of Rs 91 crore in FY25, almost identical to Rs 90 crore in the previous year.
