BooksyBooksy – Learn Anytime, Anywhere

Shopify is an e-commerce platform, while Booksy is an audio learning app — both are completely different. Booksy offers free audiobooks, podcasts, and all types of courses — whether it's self-improvement, business, finance, communication, creativity, or productivity. Plus, you get fun challenges and rewards too

mixing audiobooks ,podcasts ,courses, rewards and competitions might confuse users who just want to listen and learn. gamifying learning is cool but may shift focus from actual understanding to just chasing points. also giving premium access for free through competitions sounds good but may hurt long term revenue if too many users expect everything free. Building a real community around learning is tough too especially when most people are used to short social content not long form audio.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback – really appreciate the depth of your perspective. You're absolutely right that mixing audiobooks, podcasts, courses, rewards, and competitions can feel overwhelming if not handled carefully. That's why we're designing the app experience with user intent first. Whether someone wants a calm, focused listening experience or an engaging, gamified journey — they'll be able to choose their path during onboarding and throughout their usage. Regarding gamification: we see it not as a distraction, but a tool — if done right. We're exploring ways to reward not just completion, but actual understanding — like through quick quizzes or reflection prompts. That way, points align with real learning, not just activity. For free premium access: we’re treating it more like a limited trial or milestone-based experience. The goal is to give users a taste of the value, not to create a habit of expecting everything for free. We're also looking at smart reward systems that maintain long-term monetization potential. And yes — building a real learning community is definitely a challenge in the age of short-form dopamine hits. But we believe there's a rising wave of people who want to slow down, focus, and grow. Our aim is to make long-form audio feel less intimidating and more like a daily habit — starting with small, powerful moments. Thanks again for helping us refine this journey — would love to keep learning from you as we grow.

Not a bad idea to start upon but with a freemium model , i dont know how you are planning to scale this. Creating a mere library is going to cost a fortune and adding more features surely would burden the expenses. If you are thinking of creating a revenue stream from the advertisers, that comes only with a good proof of concept and good encouragement from early subscribers. If the free model is the way of creating the demand ,probably it would be a very hard journey. Or may be not .Time would tell. More importantly to encourage the traffic to your platform , it shouldn't just be audiobooks. You have mentioned about gamified challenges and competitions , which I think is a good way to engage the subscribers .It has a very high potential if you take the right steps in this aspect . Encouraging people to write a book review on the books they read and posting the best ones in your social media can actually increase the visibility of user and may encourage to engage into more and more stuff . Reward them with attention & visibility and they create a good SM content for you. Regarding the Podcasts , I don't think it would work well due to multiple reasons . Trying to create more verticals in the initial days would back fire things. My honest advise is focus on providing them some good books, maintain a clear strategy on categorization, provide the users to share their ideas on the book and get them visibility through your insta/FB pages , reward the best three every week/month, engage them into some sort of games or quiz regarding the books they read and create a way to share their progress on their own SM/Whatsapp. Because of my love towards reading probably Ive slightly more biased view , but if you plan right , this can work well .. Good luck . Happy to help with any ideas if you need.

Hey, there are so many platforms offering audiobook aldredy.. We got KukuFm, PocketFm, GIGL and so many others. The market is too saturated and while your idea can work, i would recommend working on something with less crowded market.
