Transportation is the biggest problem in this business model. As much as we imagine, people are not funding for the sake of their love to cinema. Funding comes from an expectation of getting a return. Those who find would surely want a break up of expenses and clear numbers on returns. It would be a nightmare to maintain the transparency when the stake holders in the business are multiple. Moreover, a consensus from all the stakeholders in the expenses made for movie can be an issue. Stringent legal contracts are needed before taking money from the crowd. With all those contracts in place, most of the enthusiasts may step back. It's a tricky place to be in
Thanks for clarifying 😂. Now I get it.
This is just my opinion for the business idea mentioned. Excuse me for the typo error in the first word of my comment- It's not transportation, it's transparency
Why are you telling this here sir?
I really appreciate your idea—it’s fresh, has great potential, and is honestly one of the best I’ve come across on this platform. The concept of democratizing film funding could be a game-changer for independent filmmakers. However, in India, crowdfunding for films hasn’t fully taken off yet. Platforms like Wishberry have struggled to scale, and Indian audiences are generally more inclined towards traditional film financing methods rather than backing projects individually. Have you considered how you’ll tackle the challenge of building trust and convincing people to invest in films this way? Additionally, globally, platforms like Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and Seed&Spark are already established players in this space. What unique value does FlickFund offer that will make filmmakers and backers choose your platform over these well-known alternatives? How do you plan to differentiate and compete in a market where these giants already exist?
I really like the structured approach—building trust first before opening up investments makes a lot of sense. However, initial funding will still be required, and I strongly suggest avoiding large-scale internal funding, especially since crowdfunding in India is still evolving. I appreciate how you're taking a gradual approach instead of rushing to scale. Regulatory challenges also need to be carefully considered as you move forward. Please don’t take this as discouragement, your product is still in its vision phase, and it's important to stay rigid about the vision but highly flexible with the details. Given the rise of social media and content creation, your platform has great potential. One suggestion- Consider onboarding regional YouTubers and content creators (vines, comedy, or niche entertainment) who already have a loyal fan base. This could help establish early trust and credibility among users, making it easier to gain traction.
Thank you so much, Aniket! I truly appreciate your kind words and insightful feedback. Your points about the challenges of crowdfunding in India and competition from global platforms are valid concerns. We’ve carefully considered these aspects, and instead of positioning FlickFund purely as a platform where movie lovers can fund films from day one, our initial approach will focus on establishing FlickFund as a brand that backs and funds movies. This shift in focus will help build credibility and trust among filmmakers and audiences. Over time, we’ll transition into a space where anyone can invest in films and content, but we believe that opening all doors at once might overwhelm the ecosystem. Trust takes time to build, and we are committed to gradually shaping FlickFund into a go-to destination for film funding. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and I’d love to hear any further thoughts you have on this approach! Thanks again for engaging with the idea.

Haven't heard of it. I'll give it a try 🙂
Interesting 🤔 so is it like the share market for movies?
Not only movies. I'm interested to go with YouTube contents also . It's hard to calculate profit on yt content . But let's see.
Best of luck. You can create this platform so that I can troll Marvel fans 😀.
