See MoreIt's an amazing idea, talk about rural development, majority of india lies in rural and it's development is very much essential. Love to see this idea getting immense success
Brilliant concept! Bridging rural land markets with tech like real-time bidding and local leasing norms is a game-changer. Excited to see DhurBigha scale this space.
Quite interesting. https://www.1acre.in/sell-land Also, operates in the same space and they initially launched in tier-1 cities and now are quickly rolling out to tier-2/3/4 etc.
What are the percentage that agricultural land will be sold on this? Interesting agri land sellers are yet to upskill themselves for this, so either you have to list their lands or through your people then only this might work. This opinion is based on my understanding and might differ to your understanding of the project
Happy to respond to your opinion. I think because the market in itself is so huge, even a marginal penetration initially can drive significant metrics. Also, i think now the penetration and digital awareness is prominent in the rural and low tier cities as multiple brands like seekho, animall, stage, dehaat are having to see huge success in these markets. And this awareness is only going to increase. Thanks once again. ๐
So when will you start ?
Expect to launch it by the last of July. โบ๏ธโก
Interesting idea indeed
It's a pleasure having this feedback from you. Happy that you liked it, will release the prototype shortly. ๐โก
Its a good idea only for sale & puchase of rural agriculture land. But if you take leasing i dont think so that it works. If we forget about mobile uses and and application education of farmers then also it doent work for leasing because mostly if a person want to take a land on lease to cultivate then he search for nearby land only where he can daily go and work there. Majorly its kind off person is going to search for land in the same village and mostly allmost everbody know each other in a village so there is no usecase for leasing also land owner is also want to give his land to a known person. I know this because we also have land ownership in our village and we provide our land for leasing.
Tech is not a problem i have seen farmers using App like Agrostar crop doctor, Mandi, mandi bhav apps so tech is not a problem at all but i still say i dont know all 10000 directly but i know all just by a small intro like caste father name and all. Also majorly these lease deals occures on trust no body pays advance and all just a verbal agreement and its like a person searching for a land for leasing and his known will connect to the person directly and deal happens..i m from rajasthan and here this is the normal practice and for a fertile land we recive 4 5 interests easily in span of 15 20 days so never feel this and dont find the problem relatable. Aldo you should definitely go for sale purchase that is the real problem to solve
Having an opinion from someone I'm building in the market is a delight. First of all, I'm happy that you agree to the discovery and direct sales part. Speaking from my experience, I have my maternal grandfather providing the land for leases too. So, you're right that it's given to someone nearby. And yes, DhurBigha sorts the land as trending and nearby, both ways. Also, it's not just about Leasing but also about better terms and flexibility that the platform aims for. I completely disagree that there's no use case for leasing. And I bet you can't know all ten thousand people living in the village. Also, different crops require different levels of maintenance, eg bamboo or horticulture. So, nearby villages and towns also have a significant chance. But I would have your points noted and for sure try to keep it as low-key in tech as possible so the adoption isn't a barrier to any Bharatvasi. Thanks again. ๐โก
Big houses will start doing this too. Like 99acres, MagicBricks ,etc. Saturated market..
Grateful for your feedback. That's a common and important concern, but the rural and agri-land market is fundamentally different from the urban one dominated by players like 99acres or MagicBricks. They're simply not equipped for the hyper-local nuances like 28+ interchangeable land units, the prevailing low digital literacy, or the prevalent informal dealings and trust-building required in this specific niche. DhurBigha is purpose-built to address these unique challenges, making our market segment underserved, not saturated. ๐โก
The concept is commendable; however, individuals in rural regions often lack adequate awareness and familiarity with mobile applications and digital systems. Therefore, it is imperative to design a user-friendly process and implement extensive outreach and promotional strategies tailored to these communities.
You've raised a crucial point about digital awareness and familiarity in rural communities. We absolutely recognize this challenge. Our solution is built from the ground up for extreme user-friendliness, featuring elements like 1-minute video tours, 12 regional languages, and seamless support for 28+ local land units to ensure DhurBigha is accessible and intuitive for everyone. ๐
Yeah, it sounds good, and do pursue it, but for actual execution, it may be extremely difficult. The market isn't ready for the solution yet, maximum of these dealings happen offline for a ton of reasons, be it cash intensive, off the books, mafia based, politically skewed, agent based, or something else maybe solving them is operationally way too heavy and with a huge trust gap, as an early stage company we might be able to tap into a very small part of it, but won't grow to the scales we want marketplaces to work to be profitable. And no one wants to touch the compliance just yet. I think we need bigger players to show interest to make it more streamlined and comfortable. for both sales and leasing you might need to create extremely critical workflows and which wont actually guarantee smooth transitions for your customers, with huge conflicts and stuff. Do consult and research and discuss before doubling down on it! All the best!
I appreciate that feedback โ it's a very valid concern about the operational realities. You're right, the market's complexities, from cash dealings to trust gaps, make it incredibly challenging. Our approach isn't to revolutionize it overnight. Instead, DhurBigha focuses on solving the initial problem of discovery and trust-building in a fragmented market. We provide unprecedented transparency through detailed listings, video tours, and local language support, combined with crucial ownership checks via State APIs. While the market is indeed complex, we believe there's a significant segment already seeking better information and broader reach than traditional methods offer. By addressing this unmet need for basic organization and verified information first, we can build trust incrementally and capture a meaningful share of the market, paving the way for gradual, sustainable growth. It's about taking strategic, smaller bites of a very large pie. โบ๏ธโก
