I audit a lot of outbound systems ( email + LinkedIn ) for founders & small teams . What I'm seeing right now is not " cold outreach dead ." It's something quieter - and more dangerous Most outreach systems are still optimised for delivery , not visibility . A few patterns I keep running into : 1. Emails are " delivered " but never actually seen Gmail's AI inbox now quietly deprioritizes anything that smells generic or promotional . NO bounce . NO spam warming . Your email just .... disappears into low attention views . So founders look at open rates & think things are " okay" while replies slowly fall off a cliff. 2. AI SDRs created signal saturation faster than expected : When everyone uses the models , prompts , & cadences , buyers learn the pattern . I've seen founders auto- mute entire threads after 2-3 similar " personalised " emails. AI didn't kill outreach . Undifferentiated AI did. 3. LinkedIn reach now decays brutally fast : Most meaningful reach happens in the first 60-90 min. After that , post flatlines unless there's real interaction . Posting once & hoping for inbound later is no longer a strategy. It's a lottery ticket now . 4. Founders are buying proof , not promises . I'm seeing a clear shift toward : • 2-3 week pilots • KPI- tied experiments • outcomes - based pricing . long retainers without fast validation are quietly getting de-prioritised . WHAT ACTUALLY WORKS RIGHT NOW ( FROM THE FIELD ) ✓ Fewer messages , more contextual ones . ✓ Outreach that creates a reply , not a pitch . ✓ Human - in -the -loop for first touches Proofs - first offer instead of " we scale X " claims ✓ Content + outreach working together , not separately If you're still sending volume & hoping math saves you , now psychology takes over . curious : What 's one outbound tactic that used to work for you... but suddenly doesn't ?
