2025 is over in a few hours. A lot of fun happened, and a lot of life happened too. Some John Doe's stayed silent. Some Maleficent's scratched the heart just to torment. Some people took responsibility and moved further. Some just ignored things in the name of office culture. It was not very different from last year. Almost the same, except I got laid off this year. Thankfully, I was doing enough and had enough to sustain myself. Last year, someone told me that corporate jobs are stable. Turns out, that was a myth and never really helps. Last year, I broke my wrist. This year, it was a minor knee injury to narratively fit. I do not know why we keep masking things and telling ourselves, “Next year will be better,” when a change of year doesn’t really change much for a job holder. Every year feels the same. There are friends and well-wishers. And there are observers and people who ignore you forever. I learned this lesson long ago, so I try to live with a survival mindset. Life will happen, and one day it will end, just like it did for others whose journeys ended around me. Some people I quarreled with. Some quarreled with me. All I hope for is to stay away from toxicity. Happy New Year.
