Makes sense. However, let's compare it to another Asset like Crypto, something you're a big promoter of. So majority of the cons of gold directly apply to crypto. It got no intrinsic value, etc etc. Further, unlike gold, Crypto can not be used in any physical stuff like making jewelry, electronics, circuits, etc. Further, Crypto doesn't have any physical value too. All you have is a key and you hope that you got crypto worth something. So does this make crypto worth less too? Think about this for a second. Will you stop buying Bitcoin because it has not real use? No. right? same is the case with Gold.. The points you made make complete sense, but you have to understand that people buy gold not only for investment, but for purpose of jwellery, electronics, etc too. And for them, appreciation is just one of the reason to buy it.. Not the main.

I agree with all points mentioned but still you can justify gold's appreciation. it's just institutions and the government and the whole world agrees that gold is a universal asset due to bla bla reasons I mentioned in the post and If you are aware of news you'd know the same is happening with BTC,

that's about bitcoin, not ALL Crypto. ETH , AERO actually run the whole web3 ecosystem and generates revenue. it has intrinsic value. also I don't own BTC but I do have Eth , sol , and some defi projects that I believe like AERO. I hope you get what I say.
