The curse of a startup founder is..... ..that you’re stuck in a paradox: You have ultimate freedom (to build whatever you want) but zero freedom (customers, investors, and payroll dictate your every move). You’re surrounded by people (team, advisors, community) yet it’s one of the loneliest jobs in the world. You work for yourself, but in reality, you now have a thousand bosses—your users, your employees, your investors, even Twitter critics. You dream of scaling big, but most days you’re just firefighting—funding, bugs, churn, hiring, legal mess, repeat. Everyone thinks you’re killing it, while you’re secretly thinking: “How the hell do I keep this alive another week?” Basically, the curse is: 👉 You start up for freedom, but end up being owned by your startup.
