𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗲… 𝗜 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗠𝗗 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀. 🤯 Got me thinking—how many brands we use daily have names we don’t even know? A few fun ones (global + Indian): IBM – International Business Machines HP – Hewlett-Packard ASML – Advanced Semiconductor Materials Lithography (now just “ASML”) LG – Lucky Goldstar (later rebranded with “Life’s Good”) TI – Texas Instruments TSMC – Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company TCS – Tata Consultancy Services HDFC – Housing Development Finance Corporation ICICI – Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India ITC – Imperial Tobacco Company (yep, now diversified way beyond tobacco) BHEL – Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited AWS – Amazon Web Services AT&T – American Telephone & Telegraph Notice the pattern? Many of these brands outgrew their own names. The acronym became the identity. Lesson for founders: Don’t obsess over the “perfect” name. Build something so strong that the name becomes irrelevant — people will know you for what you do, not what your name stands for. What other iconic acronyms should be on this list?
