That's because in India 90% of the founders do their business with the mentality of exiting it after making their money. the end goal is money, not the product. The 10% who go with the end product in mind, struggle with funding. India is all about making a quick buck and how to make it fast. That is why you see Indians are the highest F&O traders in the world today, a lot of the cyber financial frauds originate in India. Everyone wants to make money fast, startups are just one of those legal ways to make money

indian founders are not pushing things globally,, they are satisfied to serve the huge population of India.

it is easy to tell hard to do , first thing is our Indian investors are not ready to put money on innovation, r and d , they want profits and proven market, our education system is focused on marks , it will starts from there only copying with friends to get more marks and reducing our potential to do our dreams . atleast someone doing something, wtever it may be copy or not, atleast they are providing some jobs or contributing in our economy

I don't have the stats on what percentage of Indian start-ups are cloning and cloning is not inherently a bad idea. But the startups that I do see cloning are not even doing it right. either the product sucks or execution does. take snackible for example. everyone knows it's a copy of America's famous brand lunchables which are famous for their treats in a lunchbox style packaging. Most products of lunchables taste great and while snackible did manage to copy their packaging entirely the product itself is so gross that even my dog refused to eat it. No one would buy it a second time. That's the problem with such startups much like bollywood remakes of Hollywood films they put all their hopes in the fact that their products or service is based on a hit American product or service and invest little in innovation.

when you build something truly unique and new people and especially Investors "The business brains of the Country", can't accept it... they find it oddly satisfying and superbly risky to pour in INR on some passionate "Enterpreneur" then they ask to make something like this, or something like that....
