Why is this surprising? Play Store is flooded with fake apps, copyright violations, and straight-up malware. Google makes money from ads, not from curating quality. Apple's walled garden suddenly doesn't look so bad.

yep that's why I don't download apps when they appear directly.I take some time to authenticate stuff but I wonder whether the risk of downloading such apps can be mitigated🥲🥲
