The man who took Realme to the Top 5 smartphone brands in India has now launched his own brand "Ai+". Madhav Sheth, who served as the CEO of Realme India for 5 influential years, exited the company in 2023. Soon after, in November last year, he founded NxtQuantum with the mission to build in-house hardware and software and create a full-stack, sovereign mobile ecosystem in India. But one thing that’s raising eyebrows how are they offering such low prices for a Made-in-India phone with pretty solid features? Here’s what gives them the edge: - Direct-to-retail (12,000+ retailers) and D2C via Flipkart - Lower import duties assembled in India with their own NxtQuantum OS (some components are imported) - Deep experience and understanding of the Indian smartphone market It’ll be interesting to watch whether Ai+ becomes the next big disruptor or just ends up being another Micromax story. What’s your take on this new desi challenger?
